Showing at 6 weeks???

Is that possible?? I am 5'4'' and 113 lbs, I realize I have a little frame. But is it possible to be showing already? Its just a little pooch, but noticeable to me!

thanks in advance!

It's just bloat. Your uterus is still down in your pelvic cage.

If you're "showing" at 6w, then you're either bloated or eating too much.

It's probably just bloat- the hormones tend to make you a little more bloated than usual, but your uterus is still small and baby is very tiny.

I feel like I read somewhere that most of that is bloat, thanks to being a bit more irregular with pregnancy. Gross, but true.

Are you showing? Yes, because you are pregnant, but it's not baby. It's bloat. Around 12ish weeks it will go away and then you'll have a little baby bump. Your uterus is still behind your pelvic bone.

I am 5'3" 110lbs, 12 weeks pregnant with twins... I am just now barely showing.

It's probably bloat.   I had/have a lot of that.  You uterus is behind your bladder and pelvic bone still...

It is probably bloat. My bloat went away around 10 weeks and my stomach went back to normal.

Some women get pregnant and use it as an excuse to eat a lot. Then say they are showing. When it is really just the milkshakes and cheeseburgers "showing".

I've been showing for quite awhile! ;)

Some people obviously have a different definition of 'showing', I don't consider bloat to be 'showing' and that's all it could be so early for even petite women.  Baby at 6 weeks is only the size of a pea, it's impossible for their uteruses (uteri?  Damn spelling! lol) to be even thinking of poking out from behind the pubic bone at 6 weeks.  But I could definitely see extreme bloat really 'showing' on a petite pregnant women, you'd certainly notice it more on them than on someone like me who's already sporting more than a few extra unwanted pounds.

I hate how some people assume bloat is "eating too much". I've read that too much on these boards. I barely ate weeks 4-10 and was still super bloated. It's not just food bloat. It's hormones AND slower digestion, but that doesn't necessarily equal over-eating.

I didn't see anyone say that Bloat = overeating, just that if you are getting a belly already, it is either bloat OR overeating.

Don't feel bad... someone asked if I was pregnant today...CRAZY!  I quickly told them no way!

I have a little frame as well,  I am bloated though due to the pregnancy and fertility meds.

Saw my midwife this morning and she said u can show as early as 4 weeks if u are petite or slim! Everyone is different!!!!

Look, I'm not a little person and I've noticed students eyeballing the extra baggage around my midsection. There is no way in hell I'm showing at less than 6 weeks. It's bloat. It will be bloat until after your first trimester, most likely. Your uterus is still behind everything, and it hasn't grown enough to cause any changes like giving you a bump yet. You know what's even harder to hide? The already ginormous boobs. I was a 36DD-38D or so to begin with and I'm starting to spill over. Explain that one to people.

Some fun facts about pregnancy bloat:

It's not necessarily what you eat, though cutting back on salt can help

It's caused by hormones. You want those hormones, and so, you'll have the bloat.

According to the ladies who are further along, it can and most likely will go away, and will be replaced by the bump everyone evidently wants.

In the meantime, don't wear form-fitting clothes and deflect the questions that people shouldn't even be asking you in the first place.
