Girl Name...Mae Belle

My husband loves the name Mae but I feel its a little boring.   Does Mae Belle sound like the name of a cow?   Honest opionions.

I would use the name Mabel or just Mae personally, but no I don't think of the cow.

Yes. As soon as I saw the subject, I was prepared to ask if you were birthing a cow.

I love both names just not together.  Unless you just fully combined them and went with Mabel, which I love. If not, I prefer Mae in the middle name spot but if you wanted to use it as a first name I would pair a longer middle name. Mae Olivia, Mae Elizabeth... etc.,.

Ditto PPs

Would Mae have to be the FN?

What about Isabelle Mae?

 Or Annabelle Mae?

You could then still call your DD Mae.

I guess it sounds like a cow, but my first thought was that it was just realllly country.  Like she'd have brothers named Earl and Jethro.

Love Mabel and I don't think it has any of those connotations.

Mabel is my best friends name. She went by May when she was younger but since has gone by Mabel, she has a phd so no cow problems with a name spelled this way.

Not trying to be mean but yes I did think of a cow. For me personally neither name is really my style and kind of boring.

I didn't think of a cow, but it is very southern to me. Which southern isn't always a bad thing. I think it is very southern belle.

I went to Ma Bell first. But then, yeah, the cow thing. PPs have good suggestions.

I didn't think cow, I just thought the name doesn't flow at all. It's so short and choppy. I like the names separately, just not together.

It's a little reminiscent of a cow. But is seems more like a weird version of Mabel.

To me I think of 'Ma Bell' as in the nn for the phone company in the 80s!

It didn't make me think of a cow. It did make me think that they sounded bad together though- I dont ever like two one syllable names because it sounds to choppy.
