Sounds like she just choked on her own spit.
DS is super crazy drooly from his ridiculous amount of teeth, and that happens all the time. My family must have a slightly off swallowing reflex because me, my dad and now DS choke on liquids every so often.
I'm not sure if sleep apnea causes them to cough... it'd be worth a dr google check ;)
