WTF Wednesday

 

 

WTF Hospital?  MIL was admitted on Wednesday. You finally do surgery to unclog her artery on Monday. Then she has to sleep in the recovery room overnight because you don't have a bed for her to move to? THEN, she's supposed to get discharged yesterday, and you decide to keep her to unclog the artery in her leg, make FIL and SIL tell her because you're too chicken-sh!t to tell her. Then realize this morning, the surgeon's schedule is booked (shouldn't you have checked this before you decided to keep her), so she has to go home today and could have gone home yesterday and she will need to come back next week? Get your act together.

WTF Peditrician telling me that my son's skull was "closed too soon, but probably wouldn't need surgery to correct, but make an appt with the surgeon anyway" only to go there and find out that he will need surgery and have 3 days in the hospital.  Thanks for recognizing it, but dang, don't give out false hope!

WTF Surgeon's office for not seeing us until 1:30 p.m. when our appointment was at 12:00 Noon.  I didn't need 90 minutes of waiting in your office with a baby that I woke up early from a nap.

WTF parent of my new preschooler?! It's an intro to French program, and she's only been with us for three days. No, I'm not surprised she isn't speaking French at home yet. She is 3. You should be happy when I tell you she is following routines and getting along with the other children, not asking "yes, but is she speaking French yet?"

 

Also, WTF AF? Why are you still rearing your ugly head after 6 days? I have had enough of you now. Please go back to your usual 4 day timeline.

WTF rhinovirus of the century, if you were any worse I'd have to name you like the weather system folks name tropical storms.  Why can't you just leave already?  The last time I missed a day of work was two years ago when I literally had an impalement injury.  Now, on my third day sitting at home, I'm cursing you but determined to protect my coworkers from your wrath.

WTF doctor for listening to my lungs and saying "hmm that doesn't sound good".  Thanks, that really made me feel better.

WTF furnace? Why do you have to go out every year since I moved in to DH's house? Why do you have to wait to go out until two days after I install a new thermostat so DH thinks it's something I did? Any why do you have to wait to go out until after I made the appointment to have the remote start fixed on our car that I've been avoiding for a year?

Also, WTF DH... you are very sweet to help walk our neighbor's dog for free (he's been doing this for months) but this week, when shes been sick and even gone to the hospital you should have said no. Now it looks like you have what she does and now me and LO are essentially kicked out of our house to avoid him getting a 103 fever and going to the pediatric ER

WTF Husband... when I have a "day off" from work I get supper made, get the house cleaned up, and do countless other things. Why, when you have a day off, is it a stretch for you to do ANYTHING? You "might" go buy the tile we need, you "might" go see our plumber friend to get them to hook up the duct work we need to heat our addition. When I ask what else you have to do and you say "i don't know", it drives me nuts. But, then you have time to go for a flight, because that's what YOU want to do... fabulous. You suck sometimes!

Our husbands must be related, because mine does the EXACT same things. I spend my days off busting my ass with a long to-do list, he spends his on the couch watching football.

Our doc suggested trying a wide variety of supplements. I asked if others had success with any of them or something else. The first three responses (katy, tigger and diva) just said do what your doctor says - no sh*t Sherlock. The next several responses have been much more informative and help. Big Smile

WTF me?!  What was I thinking?!  I tried a juice reboot after watching Fat Sick and Nearly dead and had DH and our roommate all psyched to do it too.  We made it until 3 pm before caving and having food.  I don't think that juice fasting is something I am capable of doing, so I'll just stick with adding vegetables and healthier portions.

WTF unhelpful Bumpies. When someone asks "what worked for you" - answer the question or STFU. Everyone has different experiences and what works for one won't work for the other. But some folks like to actually hear different experiences full stop.

Wow. OK - I hear you. I did Google (as I put in my post and was told not to do by one poster). And I searched TB. Then I started a thread on TB. I've been following folks on here for a few months and was honestly interested in what they've tried and had success with - or wish they hadn't bothered with. (We're talking about the "Improving SA" post for those who didn't read it.) 

Happy hump (hehe) day to everyone!

Hence my Hmm Who was being unhelpful to you in that thread, and who do you wish would STFU?

Our doc suggested trying a wide variety of supplements. I asked if others had success with any of them or something else. The first three responses (katy, tigger and diva) just said do what your doctor says - no sh*t Sherlock. The next several responses have been much more informative and help. Big Smile
