Anyone get this in the 1st tri? XP

I have been having a dull ache on my left side since 4 weeks (I am 5 weeks today). I am trying to ignore it. Sometimes I have it and sometimes I don't. Last night i woke up feeling it. Went in last week to dr. because of it and he said it was too early to feel any possible ectopic pain but didn't see anything else. Trying to relax about it but having a hard time.

I had this, with somewhat sharp pain at times, but it turned out to be nothing and went away on its own. I did have an ultrasound done to rule out an ectopic though. My doctor said it could have been due to a corpus luteum cyst or possibly even intestinal issues.

I had this as well---like a sharp pain that dulled. Especially in those first few weeks. It was on and off.  I am 20 weeks along now. I think it is just your uterus stretching and your body changing. The pain would have to be constant/severe, I believe, to be indicative of an ectopic.

I say perfectly normal! I am pregnant with #3 right now and before I ever knew I was pregnant, I felt pain in my right side. Now, I have a uterine anomaly - I only have the right half of my uterus (which is probably why I never felt any pain on the left). The pain was dull at times and sharp at times. It should have been my first clue I was pregnant because I experienced the same pain in my side with my first pregnancy - again, I experienced it before I ever knew I was pregnant. Of course I went to the doctor for the pain and a week later, I found out the news.

The pain went on for maybe 2 or 3 weeks and then tapered off. I am now 14 weeks and haven't felt the pain in some time. I have felt other miscellaneous aches and pains all related to stretching, I'm sure. I feel certain the pain you're feeling has to be related to everything shifting around and getting into place for your baby's growth. I wouldn't worry at all. I had a co-worker who had an ectopic pregnancy and she was doubled over with pain it was so excruciating.

I know the aches can be painful - I walked around with my hand on my side and taking deep breaths. But if it's not constant and literally knocking the breath right out of you and making it difficult to function, I wouldn't worry. If you're writhing in pain, go get checked out. But an ache or sharp jab here and there - your body's just doing its thing :) Good luck, Mama! And congratulations on your wee one!

Ask about cysts at your next ultrasound appointment. I have a big ole' golfball size one on my right ovary and I have a constant dull ache there. They didn't even end up mentioning it to me this time around. I had the same thing with my first pregnancy and it went away on it's own with no further problems.

Try to relax for sure....I was about 4-5 weeks pregnant when I had an etopic and you will know the pain.  It is not a dull ache, it is an on the floor, in excruiciating pain, get me some drugs kind of pain.  Not fun.  If you feel anything like that go to emerg right away.  Good Luck with your pregnancy!
