I say perfectly normal! I am pregnant with #3 right now and before I ever knew I was pregnant, I felt pain in my right side. Now, I have a uterine anomaly - I only have the right half of my uterus (which is probably why I never felt any pain on the left). The pain was dull at times and sharp at times. It should have been my first clue I was pregnant because I experienced the same pain in my side with my first pregnancy - again, I experienced it before I ever knew I was pregnant. Of course I went to the doctor for the pain and a week later, I found out the news.
The pain went on for maybe 2 or 3 weeks and then tapered off. I am now 14 weeks and haven't felt the pain in some time. I have felt other miscellaneous aches and pains all related to stretching, I'm sure. I feel certain the pain you're feeling has to be related to everything shifting around and getting into place for your baby's growth. I wouldn't worry at all. I had a co-worker who had an ectopic pregnancy and she was doubled over with pain it was so excruciating.
I know the aches can be painful - I walked around with my hand on my side and taking deep breaths. But if it's not constant and literally knocking the breath right out of you and making it difficult to function, I wouldn't worry. If you're writhing in pain, go get checked out. But an ache or sharp jab here and there - your body's just doing its thing :) Good luck, Mama! And congratulations on your wee one!
