My exH.

Next time?   I don't know yet.  I might want my sister in there to give H some back up.  :)

Trying for number: 2 for me #4 for DH

Ages of current LOs: DS is going to be 1 year old on the 28th of this month!

How long have you been trying: This is our first cycle actively trying

GTKY:  Who was present (besides medical staff) in the room when LO was born?  Will that change the next time? I had a home birth, so although I wanted a water birth, I ended up on my bed.  DH was there, and I had two girlfriends present.  One is a professional photographer and she was able to capture all of those first minutes.  My step daughters were in the house, but waiting up the hall to meet their little brother.  For the next one, I am definitely planning another home birth and I hope my Mom will be able to make it as well and this time I'm renting a birth pool and trying for that water birth!

YEAH!

Trying for number:  2

Ages of current LOs:  21 months old

How long have you been trying:  Since November 2012

Thoughts/concerns/questions:  I continually see on here woman who are having more trouble conceiving #2 than #1.  Which I would have thought would have been the opposite.  that worries me because I also will be 35 soon!

GTKY: Who was present (besides medical staff) in the room when LO was born?  Well, until i pushed it was my parents, my sister, and DHs parents.  Once it was go time, just DH

Will that change the next time?  I doubt they will all be there this time. Especially cause someone has to watch DD.

Ages of current LOs: 5 & 3

How long have you been trying: Tested this morning and got a BFN. AF should be here tomorrow, that will start cycle # 4.

Thoughts/concerns/questions: Nothing right now.

GTKY:  Who was present (besides medical staff) in the room when LO was born?  Will that change the next time? Just DH both times. It will not change, I'm a pretty private person and we enjoyed the privacy both during the birth and for the first hour after birth.

Trying for number: 2!

Ages of current LOs: 14 months

How long have you been trying:

Not technically TTC until March or first PP ovulation. Currently charting and "avoiding".

Thoughts/concerns/questions:

No questions or concerns. Just still wishing I knew what my body is up to.

GTKY: Who was present besides medical staff in the room when LO was born?

Just DH

Will that change the next time?

I may or may not get a doula for my next baby. I wanted a natural birth but had a rough early induction and caved, asking for an epidural very early on. I really wish that I had been more prepared...so we may get a doula to help us!

Ages of current LOs:19 months as of yesterday

How long have you been trying: Im not sure if I should say 4 months or 1 month here. Huh?

Thoughts/concerns/questions: I have been thinking a lot about the couple people who think I should wait 6 months before trying again....I think I am starting to agree with them...

GTKY:  Who was present (besides medical staff) in the room when LO was born?  Will that change the next time? DH and my mom....it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be with my mom in there...that must be the awesomesauce drugs....probably would be the same situation if and when it happens.

Thoughts/concerns/questions:  3dpo and just trying to be patient in the 2ww.

GTKY:  Who was present (besides medical staff) in the room when LO was born?  Will that change the next time?  Just DH.  He had the task of holding on of my legs.  The only change would be LO being in the room if we don't have the time to wait for someone to watch him.  I had a very quick labor last time and I don't want a car baby.

Things almost feel more urgent now than they did before. We are planning on sitting out this cycle and trying again next cycle.  We'll have to see, I guess.

Thank you. She told me that we could start trying right away, or wait. That it was up to us. My sister was telling me I should wait 6 months since it takes so much out of your body to make a baby that it would help to let me body "reset itself". So its in our hands I guess. DH said it was whenever I would be ready.

 ETA:  Trying for a sibling

Trying for number: 2

Ages of current LOs: 19 months

How long have you been trying: 5 months

Thoughts/concerns/questions: I think it's crazy that I have always had pretty normal cycles until we started "trying" ......My DD was a happy surprise, I never realized how lucky we were, this trying and waiting game is a killer!! I'm also not getting any younger, I'll be 35 in March.

GTKY:  Who was present (besides medical staff) in the room when LO was born?  Will that change the next time? Just DH, we'll do it the same way, I get pretty anxious with any kind of medical stuff, too many people talking etc. makes me feel agitated and more stressed!!

How long have you been trying: this is my second cycle

Thoughts/concerns/questions: I don't want touch time to pass...my first two are so close in age I don't want the third to be too far behind.

GTKY: Who was present besides medical staff in the room when LO was born? Will that change the next time? Family were all present in the room but during the actual delivery it was just DH both times. It will most likely be that way again ;

Danandkamnorris,

That is a hard one!  DS was a freak, and potty (not poop) trained right around two.  However, one day a few months after he turned 2, he woke up and said "no potty.  Want diapers"   He did that for about a week, and back to wearing underwear.   The hardest thing for us was the poop part.  That took well over a year, and for him to be in preschool to realize it wasn't cool to shat in your pants anymore.

Good luck!

I had 2 in diapers for a while.  It was expensive, but we bought in bulk and saved some money that way.

We started potty training DD #1 when she was a little over 2. She caught in really fast and the transition was set at a good pace for her. I know she was ready to be potty trained when she woke up in the morning with a dry diaper.

We potty trained both of our daughters the same way, at different times.  We put them in big girl panties with no pants on for the first day. We put them on the potty, had them try to go to the bathroom. When they got off of the potty we set an alarm for 15 minutes and repeated that all day. Then the next day we had them in panties and put pants on them and continuted the 15 minutes intervals between potty sitting. They were both potty trained within a week.

I just started potty training DD, she is 19 months which I know some people think is really young, but it's going good. We've only been at it for a week, so we do have a ways to go, but yesterday afternoon while I was getting her snack she sat down on her potty all by herself and went!! She was so proud and excited for herself!! Right now we are in the bare butt stage so she didn't have to pull down pants and her potty is in the middle of the living room but hey it's a start!

How long have you been trying: had Mirena removed in Aug 2012, been here since.

Thoughts/concerns/questions:

nothing really, I'm putting a lot into this cycle and I really hope I'm not disappointed. I'm trying not to obsess but it's proving to be ridiculously hard. Waiting 9 more days to test is going to suck.

GTKY:Who was present besides medical staff in the room when LO was born?

DH, my mom and mother in law.

Will that change the next time?

Possibly, for sure DH and my mom but I'm kicking around the idea of having my daughter in there as well. If I was to get pregnant this cycle, she would be 11 and half by the time I gave birth and I think it would be a really special memory for her and I to share. We'll see I guess.

It didn't help when I asked my OB how long we should wait replied, "well I don't want you to wait too long to try again, because of your age." Yep. She just added to my urgency. So, she pretty much suggested I sit out this cycle and start trying again.

Trying for number: 2

Ages of current LOs: 17 months

How long have you been trying: 3 months

Thoughts/concerns/questions:  DH and I both have a stomach flu right now - at first I was upset that O was late now I'm hoping it waits awhile so that DH and I can get better and have a shot this cycle.

GTKY:  Who was present (besides medical staff) in the room when LO was born?  Will that change the next time? Just DH (I had a C-section).  I will keep it the same as I will have to have a c-section again.

Trying for number: 2

Ages of current LOs: 14 almost 15 months...

How long have you been trying: first cycle

Thoughts/concerns/questions:
I keep going back and forth between if I am ready for number 2! In my heart I want another baby so bad, but I just visited friends with their 2 day old and I think it has thrown me for a loop! Like do I really want to go through those sleepless night again! Plus my whole house just got hit with the flu, so I am out for this cycle because it happen during my FW
GTKY: Who was present besides medical staff in the room when LO was born? Will that change the next time? Just DH, thankfully! It turned into a gong show at the end so I am happy no one else was there to witness the craziness!

Trying for number: 2

Ages of current LOs: 21 months tmr

How long have you been trying: 9 months.

Thoughts/concerns/questions: DH and I agreed to stop 'trying'. No more opks or cm/cp checks. I don't even want test hpts anymore. I am just so overwhelmed and ttcing is comsuming my mind. I'm considering a bump break but I frequent so many boards and I enjoy it.

GTKY:  Who was present besides medical staff in the room when LO was born?  Will that change the next time? Just DH. My sister asked to be in the room the next time. Ill consider it.

Trying for number: 2

Ages of current LOs: 23 months

How long have you been trying: 4 cycles, but 5 months of trying

Thoughts/concerns/questions: Just hoping I have a more normal length cycle this month.

GTKY:  Who was present (besides medical staff) in the room when LO was born?  Will that change the next time?

Only DH was there at the actual birth. I had been thinking I wanted my mom there too, and she was in the room during early labor, but when they were trying to give me the epidural and it wasn't working, she left (she couldn't take seeing me in so much pain, as well as them jabbing me multiple times in the back). She wanted to come back in afterwards, but things started happening quickly after that. I was so out of it at that point I didn't know or care who was there. Next time, I think it will just be DH again but the grandparents will probably be at the hospital waiting (minus whomever is staying with DD).
