since we are all sick

For those veteran charters, how did illness affect O timing in the past?  I have been curious about this.  I O'd early this cycle and I can only think it was due to illness.  TIA!

Illness never affected by O date, I would think that unless it was an illness/injury that caused your body a lot of stress..it wouldnt make much of a difference.  I am interested to see what others say though.

TTC #1 for about 51 fortnights :)- July 2011
BFP #1: 2/15/12-Ectopic/Mtx at 6 wks
BFP #2 10/12/12-m/c at 5 wks.
HSG/saline sono all clear!! CD3 b/w normal.
DH:MFI normal count (68mil) low motility (2%) and morph (9%)
Repeat SA: normal count (45.7mil), motility (47%) and low morph (1%), DNA frag: Excellent!
Me:MTHFR:Compound Heterozygous. On High Dose Folic Acid.
Cycle 17: Nov 2012: Clomid+ Trigger+ TI= BFN
Cycle 18: Dec 2012: Clomid+ Trigger+ TI+ progesterone= BFN
Cycle 19: Jan 2013: Clomid+ Trigger+ IUI #1+ TI+ progest =BFN
Cycle 20: Feb 2013: Clomid+ Trigger+ IUI #2+ TI+ progest =BFFN
Cycle 21: Mar 2013: Clomid+ Trigger+ IUI #3+ TI+ progest =BFN
Cycle 22: Apr 2013: Unmedicated TI+ progest =shocking BFN
Cycle 23: May 2013: Unmedicated TI+ progest =BFFN
Cycle 24: Jun 2013: Taking a break before IVF.
Waiting for HLA, NK cell, APA testing and BCP.

It hasn't affected my O date at all.

If you want to peruse my charts, I was sick November 2011 (cold - I even discarded one temp due to fever in the 2ww), December 2011 (cold), Late January 2012 (I think the chart was January 29, 2012 - that was a bad UTI and YI and on antibiotics) and this current cycle I have had a cold for the past week.

Unless I was on antibiotics it has not affected my O. The cycle I was it pushed it back a couple days.

Cycle 20-Clomid 50mg+trigger+IUI#3 left-33mm & 23mm, post wash 63 mil 80% moti=BFFN

im a bit stuffed and have a sore throat. my O is usually between day 19-22 ish. Im on day 20 and still no o yet..will let you know if it effects it! I feel like perhaps it COULD but i'm not a pro.

Went off BCP March 2012 TTC #1 since March 2012 Feb 2 2013 - SA = normal My Ovulation Chart ||

I had a UTI last cycle and was put on antibiotics that was right around my FW. I don't think it was a coincidence that I O'd extremely late - I'm convinced the UTI and/or medication threw off my cycle. I doubt a common cold would affect O date at all, but certainly an infection or more severe illness could do so (my OB said as much).

I should add that although being on antibiotics didn't affect my O, being severely underweight and malnourished didn't affect the length of my cycles (I wasn't temping back then) either.  So I'm a bit of a freak.

(I say malnourished because I was very very sick with the chicken pox and weighed only 90 lbs because of it.  This was back in 1999.  I would be curious to see if my 'bleeding' was an actual period or breakthrough bleeding.  I wish I could go back and temp for the sake of science!)

Hi, hope your feeling better, I'm getting over the flu right now.  I've been charting and using OPK's and I have been sick three times since October and it has never affected my ovulation or cycles.  Stress and travel are the two things that have caused an impact on my cycle length.

Being sick has never affected my O date but when I've seen people talk about it its normally that they O'd later than usual. Its possible you just had one goofy cycle with an earlier O than usual or it could be a shift to a new norm. Good luck either way.

I had the shingles last cycle and didn't O at all. Not sure if it's because of the shingles or just coincidence.

I was hospitalized for strep, kidney infection and extreme dehydration. I was not charting but my AF was 2 weeks late. I must have been sick the week I O'd. Not sure if it was the stress of being sick or the medication.

I've been sick for the last three weeks (head cold, then ear infection). I actually ended up Oing 2 days earlier than the cycle before, making it my earliest ovulation date since stopping birth control. I started antibiotics the day before O.
