Who needs sleep?

I know there's no miracle answer to this question, just looking for some helpful hints you ladies might have found to work. How do you fall back asleep at night? I always seem to struggle to struggle with this...either I can't shut my brain down, there's a jumping party going on in there, or sometimes there's just no reason at all. Everyone keeps telling me "rest up while you can" but I work between 6-12 hours a day on weekdays, around 8 hours on Saturdays, so naps usually aren't a possibility and I don't want to spend my entire day off on Sunday snoozing when that's our day to run errands and accomplish everything. I've spent the last few weeks feeling like I could fall asleep at any given time at work...but can't sleep when I have the whole night to do so.

FWIW I'm 32 weeks so I'm not at the point where I'm uncomfortable at night...I'm actually quite comfy on either side with a body pillow so I don't think that's part of the problem

Anything you've found that has helped? Or is this just another reality of pregnancy?

Thanks :)

I use my hypnobabies techniques to go back to sleep. It shuts the chatter in my brain off.
I'm super uncomfortable at this point and it really helps.

I'm almost 24 weeks and already uncomfortable and keep waking up then never able to fall back asleep. If it's this bad already I am not looking forward for what is to come..

I have 34 body scan meditations that I play on loop. I am normally back asleep in the first 5 minutes. PM me and I can direct you on where to download them.

I try not to look at any screen -- phone, tv, computer -- before I get into bed. I'm not always good about it, but I find that it helps calm my brain. Something about the bouncing from topic to topic that makes it hard to calm down, whereas reading doesn't seem to effect me the same way.

I also find that a good conversation with DH relaxes me; we often talk for about 20 minutes, even about 'nothing', before turing off the light, and this really helps me too.

Mine is very simple and usually does the trick, so it took a few nights to really stop thinking... I just sit and try to relax my body and focus on my breathing.  I often have to think or say "in" as I breathe in and "out" as I breathe out.  Just saying or thinking those words helps keep other thoughts from my mind.  Like I said, it did take me a few nights to continue focusing on those two words instead of allowing everything else back in.

I am right there with you.  I am 27 weeks and layed in bed for 6 hours Sunday night not sleeping.  The baby hopping around like a rabbit didn't help.  Normally, relaxation techniques help me when I can't sleep but not this time.  I think I finally got 2 1/2 hours of sleep before the alarm went off.  Ugh!  I've slept ok that last couple of nights but have been exhausted all week.

Will be 28 weeks Friday and I've tried warm milk before bed and that sometimes works...but lack of sleep got so bad that last month my OB ordered me to take unisom or benadryl if I can't sleep. It's my best friend.

My sleeping pattern for the past 4 or 5 months has been to sleep for 4-5 hours, then be awake for 1-2 hours in the middle of the night before I can return to sleep. It's so annoying! And I commute to work (drive) 1 hr each way, plus at work 9 hrs each day, so away from home at least 11 hours per day...I haven't found anything that helps me stay asleep all night, I have taken Benadryl to fall asleep when I am really desperate but I don't want to be taking it daily. Idk, so if anyone has solutions, I'm interested! My brain is just too "on" in the middle of the night. I wasn't sure if this is supposed to "get me used to" what it will be like when the baby is born.
