Raspberry leaf tea?

Hi

I have read about raspberry leaf tea helping later in pregnancy.  But are there benefits while TTC?

I understand the green tea in before ovulation and Pom juice.  Pineapple core...anybody try this?

Thanks

I am so sorry for your loss.

No.  Raspberry leaf can mess with your hormones.  It's good to avoid.

Green Tea didn't help my CM, I was much dryer when I tried it.  I found that upping my daily water intake was most beneficial.  In months that I don't get enough water, my CM is lacking.

There is no scientific studies that show any kind of correlation between Pom juice and uterine lining.  It does not help thicken uterine lining.  (there was a bumpie that had thin lining that was being monitored and used it and it did absolutely nothing).  It does help in upping the amount of sugar you consume, so if you're looking to gain weight, then it will help with that.  Do you have a thinned lining?  If so, then your best bet is to discuss it with your doctor.

The bromelain in pineapple core 'supposedly' helps with implantation.  I haven't personally seen any scientific data to back this up, so I don't know.  Bromelain is an anti-inflammatory.  I do know that the fleshy part of the pineapple can help induce uterine contractions, so if you're going to try it, then avoid the pineapple flesh.

HTH!

Thanks so much!

Not sure if I have a thinned lining, I was just going to try some of the things I see people post on here.

But for sure I'll drink the extra water! (have to get on the healthy new year kick anyhow!)

No, I love her to death but she is a "all knowing health nut"....I side eye her most of the time with the stuff she says.

ETA, this was the link she had sent me when she told me about it.

Red Raspberrry Leaf Tea

Red Raspberry is the best single herb that we can take for total uterine health. There is a long list of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that the uterus needs to work efficiently. Red Raspberry Leaf has virtually all of them. The most popular use for Red Raspberry Leaf Tea is for mama and baby’s health throughout pregnancy. It provides your uterus with a nourishing source of vitamins and minerals that are vital for a healthy pregnancy. Red Raspberry is also an excellent source of an alkaloid called fragrine, which tones the muscles of the pelvic region, including the uterus itself. This really helps to lower and sometimes eliminate cramps from the menstrual cycle and also makes for an easier birth. Red Raspberry leaves also contain many vitamins like vitamin C, E, A, B complex, and minerals like magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, manganese, selenium, silicon, sulfur, tannins, also easily assimilated calcium and iron. All of this makes Red Raspberry leaf the best base available for all of these teas. I love this naturally occurring herb that was created for women's health.

You mean Pre-seed isn't for gardening? Man, here I've been squirting the tube right over my topsoil. It really helped with my tomato crop. Can you believe none of that is a metaphor?

Yes and cause uterine contractions.  I did find one bumpie that said this as well:

"First, it's Red Raspberry leaf that is the active ingredient in the tea. It tastes like black tea (not fruity) & in medicinal amounts/concentrations it is not recommended until after 37 weeks. It tones the uterus to make labor pains more effective in dilating the cervix for delivery.

I took it starting at 38 weeks pregnant. One tea bag steeped in 8 oz. of boiling water for 15 minutes. You drink five, 8 oz. cups per day until labor starts. I had DD at 39 weeks. My labor was 12 hours total.

I cannot advise taking it while TTC. It can inhibit your uterine lining & cause contractions or preterm labor/miscarriage if taken early in pregnancy. Some women start it during 2nd trimester, but my midwife advised against it.

Before you take any sort of medication or herbal remedy you should consult your doctor about what it could mean for your individual situation.  "

If you're having hormonal issues, JJ or OP, talk to your doctor.  You shouldn't go off and self-dx.  You can end up causing more harm than good. Also, the saying "don't fix it if it ain't broke" definitely applies to your body.

Remember, there is a lot of misinformation out there.  Just take a look at the site that T3's sister was referring her to.  They'll tell you whatever they can to sell their products.  That doesn't make it true.

Question about all this. I've never had the tea, but I noticed my PNV (which is the rainbow light brand from target, which I know a lot of ladies take) has RRL in it. Thoughts?
