Opinion on names

We're expecting baby 3 are looking for names, mostly for fun because we don't know the sex yet.

Currently we have ::
Gabe Gabriel Anthony
Lucy Lucille Rae

We have a very Italian last name. All of our names are somewhat family related names. We prefer that.

Here are some of our favorites :
Girls
Hazel
Millie Mildred
Meredith wish we had a shorter nickname for this tho?
Georgia
Middle name would be Anne for my DH's mom who passed away.

Boys
Christian we do NOT like the name Chris all, is it risky to name the baby Christian in hopes no one would call him Chris?

Gino
Frankie

I'm not a fan of the name Meredith but I've always heard Merri/Merry as the nickname.  In high school we called a girl named Meredith either Merri or Pippin (two of the hobbits in The Lord of the Rings)

If you prefer Christian, just call him Christian and introduce him as Christian.  You don't have to be rude, but if someone calls him Chris, just say "We prefer calling him Christian".

That being said, if he likes being called Chris when he gets older, you can't stop him or his friends from using it.

I love Benjamin nn Ben or Benji, and I think it goes well with your other names.

I love the nn Millie but not Mildred. I think I'd go with Hazel Ann.

I'd say if you don't like the obvious nickname don't use the name. I had a.friend Rebecca and her brother Daniel in school whose mom freaked if you didn't call them by their full name, but they preferred Becky and Dan. It was awkward in high school. Even if you prefer something there will be people who won't respect that. I was called Mer for years and I hated it.

I really like the name Christian, but as someone else with a Gabriel who introduces him as "Gabriel" yet people still refer to him as "Gabe", I'd say if you're really not liking Chris as a nn, you may want to go with something else.

I wouldn't let it dissuade me if I loved the name, but it seems like it bugs you. FWIW, I love Benjamin, too.

 For girls, I like Georgia and Meredith the best. I went to school with one Meredith, and she didn't have a nickname.

I love Meredith!  I would use nn Mary (preferred) or Merry/Merri.

I really like Christian and Benjamin.  I know several boys named Christian and they have never been shortened to Chris.

I love Hazel and obviously love Georgia :) Really hate Mildred and Meredith. 

Benjamin gets my vote for the boy. Benji is one of my favorite nicknames ever for a little boy!

I love Millie, but dislike Mildred. Would you consider Millicent Anne? The Merediths I know go by Merry or Mer.

I love Frankie as a NN for Francis (DS2's name.)

I really like Gino, but not with BB Gabe.

I'd be hesitant to use a long name if I didn't have at least one possible NN I liked.

I like Hazel and Georgia.

I don't think "Chris" when I hear Christian.  We liked Christopher but knew he would be tagged a Chris so it went off the list.  I don't feel as certain that would occur with Christian.

I love Hazel and Meredith. Mer is a cute nn. I don't think many people would call Christian Chris, so I would go with it.

Christian and Georgia are my favorites. I know a few Christians that don't go by Chris, so you should be okay.

Hazel. 

I like Gino with an Italian last name, since it's an Italian name... However, neither of your other children have very Italian FNs.   So I like Christian to go along with the other two.  It might be risky though.

My brother is Michael and growing up he would correct people who called him "Mike".  He would say, "My name is Michael."  And this was when he was a little dude.  Maybe Christian would do the same...?
