Warning TMI? maybe?

I personally don't feel like this is TMI but ya never know!

 I started to notice a difference in what happens after BD depends on if I orgasm (which I will now refer to as O). It seems that if I O right before or at the same time DH does very little to nothing comes out when I get up. However, if I do not O then it barely takes him pulling out or me moving slightly and then there's a mess. So I've started to wonder if the muscle contractions help with TTC. Anyone know anything about this? Just curious!

It has actually mentioned before that the muscle contractions of orgasm can act as a vacuum and help get the sperm closer to the cervix. So I don't think it is an invalid question and is entirely feasible that less would leak out. I also notice position tends to help with how much leaks out. If I am on top, more leaks out.

From what I've read, there has been much speculation about this but no real evidence to back it up.

i was actually just thinking this last nght sometimes when we are done...nothing is on the outside...success! There will be some leakage over 24 hours but no mess after we BD. but sometimes there is a lot on the outside and i have to wonder if its cause i didn't O also.. who knows.

 

any responses?

 I wouldn't say I'm thinking too much into this! It was just my curiousity peaking! Iit happened on more than one occasion! I don't thinking looking into it and asking will hurt anything! I think everyone knows it's not essential! Plus it's kinda cool!

I believe the Great Sperm Race movie talks about how having an orgasm helps get the sperm closer to the cervix. It makes sense.

Personally I do think that orgasm moves the sperm up a bit but yeah it has to be timed well. And I'm not sure if it really makes a difference in actual conception.

I think this is an interesting question. Todd Akin would find it interesting as well. (<-- no, I do not mean to imply that the OP or anyone else on this board thinks that you need an orgasm and/or consensual sex to get pregnant.)

Yeah, as if trying to get pregnant in itself isn't stressful/difficult enough. I'm gonna go ahead and say that's a bad idea. Sex can still be good if you don't come. 


TTC since October 2011.
DX with Non-IR PCOS in October 2012.
Missing RIGHT tube due to a prior surgery to remove cyst-zilla (40 lbs!) at age 12.
HSG showed tube was blocked - cleared by dye. DON'T DO CLOMID WITHOUT AN HSG!
Cycle #8 with 50mg Clomid & TI = BFN
Cycle #9 with 50mg Clomid & TI = No response.
Cycle #10 with Clomid 100mg + Ovidrel shot = BFN
Cycles #11 & 12 are unmedicated (No temping/testing/charting)

This is one of the great things about having a husband who isn't super involved in the TTC process. I plan on doing one better- "honey it's crucial I O before, at the same time, and after you. We have to be thorough!"

Yes, I tend to think that having an orgasm may help a little. I don't stress over it though because the sperm can still make it without one. Much more enjoyable that way though!
