Spinning babies - posterior position

Anyone have any experience with this? I am mainly looking for some suggestions on movements, positions to help improve baby's position to anterior.

Do lots of hands and knees.  I know it sounds silly, but crawling around the floor can help.  Pelvic rocks everyday.  Also, when you sit, make sure you're keeping good posture and don't slouch back, better to lean forward a bit.  Sitting on an exercise ball with your legs open/relaxed to the side and leaning slightly forward will help open things up too.  Chiropractic care can help too.

DS was posterior last time so I've been doing what I can this time to try to encourage more optimal positioning.  So far DD seems to be in a much better position.

I just troll spinningbabies every night and try everything. I'm sure DD is facing the wrong way, too, and I do not want! I can't resist lounging on the couch sometimes, though. Sitting up straight is miserable...

DD 2 was breech until 36 weeks and the Chiro helped with that. Then she was posterior while I was in labor being induced. The nurse had me lay pretty much on my belly to encourage her to move. She said it was called "belly to bed" and it worked. I think she did some pushing on my belly while she had me laying that way, so, definitely something they can do while you're in labor.

I'm lurking from 1st tri, but my last baby was posterior and I was so scared.  I was going for a drug free birth and i was nervous it was going to be longer and more painful.

He stayed posterior all the way up until I start pushing.  When she had checked me 45 minutes before he was still posterior, then when i started pushing she said he had turned.   He was out in less then 10 minutes.

I know it sounds hippy-ish, but I think most often babies and our bodies know what they're doing.  But I get that it is hard to not be trying something.

Either way, try not to worry.  :)  GL!

While I do agree with this in general about pregnancy, I do think there are some limitations.  Of course the majority of babies end up in the right position by the time of delivery even if you do nothing extra, but the way we live our lives (most of us trapped behind desks all day) does have a negative impact, especially on positioning.  Sitting slumped in a desk chair all day and then heading home to do the same thing on a couch definitely encourages posterior position, you know?  But I'm all about trusting that your body knows what it's doing.  Just never hurts to try to encourage optimal positioning because it's so important and the exercises/keeping posture in mind are no big deal to add to your daily routine :)

I had the most success with getting on my hands and knees.. Put your head down towards the floor and stick your butt up in the air.  I did this for 20 minutes 3x a day and my little guy is now anterior and ready to go!  It took me about 4 days to get him to turn.

I delivered my first sunny side up. He had been that way for 6 weeks and no one told me. If I had known, I would have tried anything to avoid the 6 weeks of agony he put me through while he was sitting on my nerve and the 2nd degree tearing that came with it.

2 out of my 3 so far have been posterior.  My mom had 3 out of 4 of her kids that way too.  We just have pelvises that like to birth babies that way.

I try spending a lot of time on my hands and knees, but I feel like baby is just going to come out the way he or she is comfortable.  Hands and knees definitely helped with my back labor though!

And just so you're not too scared, I've had three uncomplicated (apart from the posterior thing) vaginal deliveries and have never torn at all.  Pushing is painful, but I've done it med-free, so it's totally manageable.  Your body can do this :)
