Constipation....

On another note I am having a helluva time having BM's, I am taking generic Colace daily and also drinking as much fluids as I can...I think I even gave myself a small hemmaroid last week which has not been bothersome since that day...what else can I use to make things easier to pass??

When things get really bad for me I drink prune juice.  It is DISGUSTING but works well.

Prunes and metamucil seem to work for me. I also basically cut out white bread/pasta, and am trying to eat only whole grains, which has helped overall (but not in such a dramatic manner as prunes...)

I eat a lot of fruits and drink lots of water. Also decaf coffee works for me sometimes.

I mentioned to my OB that I had been taking colace and he grimaced and asked if I thought it was doing anything for me.  I wasn't joing much. Darn - I really liked the convenience of those little pills.

He recommended miralax in addition to fiber and water - said to take everyday until I was sure everything cleared up, then back of dosing until hit a happy place.  It took about a week to feel like I had reached my max dose.  My system was pretty happy for almost a week after that - just had to start up again.

I used to go to costco for wine and goat cheese.  This week, I went for miralax, tums, and bio oil.

Good luck!

I stopped eating cheese, started eating prunes, and started walking for 30 minutes every night at work. I have to walk in the hall way and it's 75 steps one way and totally boring but it's worth it. I've also heard of people mixing apple and prune juice and having lots of success.

This.  EVERY SINGLE DAY.  I've eaten Activia for years now.  It works.  And I try and eat an apple a few times a week too.  Right now I crave bananas, but they aren't really good for you if you're stopped up.  Hope you find something that works...I know how uncomfortable it is, I've been there hundreds of times.  I got the flu before Christmas, throwing up, coughing, runny nose, the whole nine yards....I didn't poop for a week due to not having any food in my system.  I gave myself a hemmrhoid on top of that.  It's been a rough few weeks for sure.  GL!

Nothing has worked for me other than Miralax.  When I was really backed up, it would take 3-4 days in a row of taking it to work.  Now, I just automatically take it 2-3 days a week to keep things moving.

Fiber One does work really well. If you can't stand the taste of it (like me) Here's a recipe for a treat that was on HungryGirl.com:

Melt a bag of chocolate chips (semi sweet or milk) and once its melted you put a sleeve of Fiber One cereal into the pot of melted choc. Mix all around so it's all covered in chocolate. Put wax paper on a baking sheet and make 24 little clusters of the chocolate covered cereal. Put in the fridge or freezer to harden. They are delicious and a great snack filled with fiber.

Just thought I'd share :)

Prunes, prune juice, and I mix a ton of FiberOne powder into my drinks.  I have a subchorionic hemorrhage and was told I was to have absolutely not straining to use the bathroom.  So we have been really been pushing the fiber and it seems to help.
