AW: So cranky today

Last night was a particularly bad night's sleep combined with a stressful day at work, which was probably made worse by me being irritable from being sleep-deprived. So I come home this evening and have had the shortest fuse with my DH (who truly has been a saint during this whole pregnancy). He decided that maybe I just needed some time by myself tonight and excused himself to another part of the house. It's not what I wanted, but it definitely saved him from my war path. He's now gone to bed, and I'm still trying to unwind and shake off the day. I feel terrible for being so bitchy with him tonight. With the earlier trimester symptoms, at least you could optimistically know they would pass as the pregnancy proceeded. But the sleep-deprived part will only continue and get worse - both leading up to the big day and after. Anyone have any tips on how to not let it get to you so badly?

not sure there's a way to avoid it all together but you can find ways to help unwind...go take a bath with bubbles and make a yummy drink for yourself (mint tea, cranberry and soda water etc...) do you like playing stupid computer games or iphone games? or read?

if DH needs time alone i guess it's hard to make him feel guilty about it but i'm with you on that one - sometimes you just want him around!

maybe he can give you a massage tomorrow night after work instead.

I have so been there!  I swear pregnancy has just made me have a short temper.. Not get more emotional! The biggest thing that has helped me is a bath.. Such a simple thing, but I just lay back.. Play music.. And totally de-stress from my day.  Some days nothing will keep me relaxed, but if I take 20-30 minutes to just focus on myself, soak in the tub or even take a shower and try to unwind it usually helps!
