Ohh! I have one today! (hopefully this hasn't been done recently - I don't remember seeing it)
I think flu shots are overrated*!
The lady I buy my coffee from every day totally bombarded me this morning...
her "did you get a flu shot?"
me "no"
her "but you HAVE to get a flu shot!"
me "no I don't - I've never gotten them before"
her "but...but they say this year it's worse than any other year before!" (yeah, they say that ever year) "and I got the flu shot a few weeks ago, and then my friend came over, and he was sick and then I got sick" (OK - so the flu shot didn't work for you, or they're immunizing against the wrong strain - was this supposed to be an argument in your favor?) "and THIS year - it's not just the flu, they're calling it "influenza" this year!" (ummm, yeah....I'm not taking medical advice from someone who doesn't know that "flu" is short of "influenza")
She proceeded to go on for about 2 min why I absolutely HAD to get a flu shot this year, until I finally just walked out of the shop. I didn't want to be rude, but really, I have better things to do with my time.
*I understand if your job requires you to be around children or sick people, if you are elderly/have a weak immune system, or your job is such that you ABSOLUTELY cannot take a day off if you're sick. But for those of us who are not overly-susceptible, and can take off work if we're sick, I don't see any reason for getting it.
