Activities for 9 month old?

Currently I am home all day with LO, I am looking for work but no luck yet. So I am wondering what kinds of activities I could do with her during the day. She plays all day on the floor with tons and tons of toys but she losses interest in them fast and I feel like there is more I could be doing to really interact with her and get her stimulated, any suggestions?

DS plays on the floor most of the day, naps, listens and dances to Barney songs. Between eating, sleeping, and playing his day flies!

Our day usually looks like:

Wake up, nurse

Floor play for 45 minutes or so (I'm usually on the floor with her either watching or actively playing, depending on her mood)

Eat breakfast for 20 minutes, since she is on finger foods.  Self-feeding is fun and time-consuming!

More floor play

Nurse, nap for her and shower/chores fo rme

Wake up, go run errands

Get home, nurse if it didn't happen during errands, a teeny bit of floor play

Lunch (again this takes time and she and I have a lot of fun with it)

Nap for her and either nap or chores for me

Wake up, floor play while I get some stuff done, which means usually in a different location in the house

Daddy gets home (yay!), dinner, play if there's time, maybe a bath, bedtime routine and bed

We mix things up by doing errands, playing in different parts of the house because I'll be doing chores, and doing a variety of different baby games as well as toys. So when I'm folding the laundry she's often playing with the clean clothes.  When I'm working on a meal she's playing with kitchen utensils and banging on tupperware.  Errands get us out of the house and she loves the stimulation.

I get down and play with her and give her time to play by herself :) I am only home friday thru sunday as I work on monday thru thursday but these are some thing I do:

Read a peek a boo book with her, our duaghter loves when we have to open the flaps to see whats hidden.

You could turn on music while your on the floor with her, get her standing and hold her hands dancing.

Finger painting in high chair! Our daughter loves this! We just bought the non toxic crayola paint.

Also I put on mickey mouse clubhouse every now and then and she loves that show! And if i sit with her watching it, I answer questions aloud that mickey asks to help her learn.

I also spell her name, Ive been doing this since she was born, I will just look her in the eye and say Peyton, and then spell it and she stops everything to stare as I do this, she loves it!

Im not sure how you have her play area set up but we have a play area in our living room and one upstairs so I do morning playtime downstairs and afternoon playtime upstairs just to switch it up for her.

Also if she has alot of toys you may want to put some away and switch them out every couple of days, that may help keep her interested, like something new each time!

Also we have a storage cube that we keep some of her smalled toys and board books in, we keep this on her playmat, she spends while pulling it over and exploring whats inside. Then in the evening I put it all back in and she does it all over again in the morning lol!

I usually try to get my LO out of the house because he seems to go stir crazy if he's there too long. I can tell that he gets bored, even with a bunch of toys, so we try to go places if we can.

I haven't seen it mentioned, maybe because it is winter for most people, but if I am home with DDs, I take them for a walk outside, weather permitting, twice a day at least. DD1 walks and DD2 is in her stroller, and we just walk for about 45-60 minutes each time. I hate being indoors with them, because DD2 is very clingy and heavy and she honestly tires me out more indoors. I just introduced her to the swing at a park, and she went banay-nay over it and refused to come out after 30 minutes of me pushing her. Kind of like her birth ... Anyway, if you can, or when the weather gets nicer, definitely take LO outside and point out any animals or flowers or whatever interesting thing you come across. Plus, it helps to get to know your neighbors if you don't already, and my mom is always surprised when she comes along and people three blocks away greet my girls by name.

Something my DD has been interested in lately - laundry.  She likes to "help" me fold it...usually she enjoys being surrounded by a pile of socks, where she tosses them about and plays.  She also like putting bundled socks into the laundry basket.  It's fun for both of us, and it passes time nicely!  She also likes any play activity or game where she can take turns...for example, she like to clang her toys together to make music.  Then she passes them to me to watch me do something with them, then she reaches to ask for them back.  I don't know...FWIW.

Your typical day sounds like mine!  I also take her for walks to do errands and sometimes just long walks and to the park.  But the time scheduling and her underneath my feet in the kitchen, and "helping" me with laundry, etc...that's us to a T!  She is my shadow and minnie me!

Their attention spans are still very short, which is normal. Almost any activity that you do will be rather short lived. I think as long as you are playing with her you are doing a great job interacting. Just because she moves on to the next toy quickly doesn't mean she is bored, just that, in her eyes there is so much other stuff to do.

Some other activities I do are rolling the ball, hand games/songs (like "going on a bear hunt", reading/looking at books, water play, fingerpainting, and playing with musical instruments.
