Confused about due date

Hi ladies,

Yesterday I had my N/T scan and now I'm confused on dates:

My LMP puts me at July 29 and I'd be 11w5d today but the U/S put me at 12w3 days, with a DD if July 22. I was charting and got a BFP at 10 dpo. I guess it is possible I ovulated earlier as I had a drop in temp then rise, but not a huge one though I was a slow riser, about 5 days before my CH's. I also. Had EWCM those days and none around CH's but my OPK's were positive after that. I didn't test before that though, as my cycle was 29 days and if the u/s was correct, I o'd on CD 10 abd usualky I ovulated on CD 16 or 17. We had sex on CD 9 and 10, so I guess it's possible conception happened then! But is it possible to get a positive OPK after ovulation?

Anyways, which should I go by? I know that u/s is more accurate than LMP earlier in first tri. But is it still more accurate at 12 weeks? I didn't have an earlier u/s, so this is all I have. I posted about this on on The July board too but just wondering what you ladies might think. Hope this post made sense! Thanks!

Regardless of charting and temping the Dr will go by the due date he thinks is right. so whatever he says go by that.

The later the u/s the less accurate it is with determining a due date. I'd stick with your LMP date, if it were me.

What did your dr say? It's possible he/she won't consider the u/s date, either. (I know mine wont.)

you just asked the same question. and will get the same answers. U/s is more accurate.http://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/71145484.aspxnbsp;

Um, sorry? There were different answers to the question and people didn't agree. Most said early u/s was more reliable, but I wasn't sure if the 12 week one was considered early still.

Sorry, I should have said I haven't seen my doctor yet. The ultrasound was at a different facility. I will definitely ask him when I see him next. Thank you!

i reread it and changed by response. dr dont care about charting or temps or anything. i know when I Od but they still put me at a DD he seemed was right. Use the DD the dr gave you since that it what they will use.

 No. 6 weeks is early. 12 weeks is pushing it...

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I should have stated I haven't seen my doctor since the u/s. I will definitely ask him and go by what he says.

Earlier u/s are good for dating the pregnancy, but the further along the less reliable it is. My OB goes by the LMP instead of the u/s.

I had pretty much the same thing. By LMP, I was July 29th, at my 7 w u/s we found out we were measuring 8 w and changed my EDD.

I went with what the dr wanted. Even though I find it funny that I apparently O'd within 3 days of the end of my last period.

I had something similar happen with my first pregnancy. After my first ultrasound, my dud date was set four days later than what I had figured it out to be based on my LMP. Officially, my midwife used the date determined by the ultrasound, but I always had the other date in the back of my mind. In the end, I gave birth smack in the middle of the two dates!
