I had mine stripped yesterday and so far nothing is happening except some very mild, very sporadic contractions. Although I'm only 38 weeks, so hopefully you'll have better luck.
With DD, I had my membranes stripped at 38, 39, and 40w4d - the third time was the charm. I was having time-able contractions within a few hours and delivered 14 hours later.
