Would you call your doctor?may hv tmi

First of all I'm not a complainer, never bring much up with my doctor since I never want to be trouble or embaressed for something not being a problem etc so I don't call at all or if ever....BUT

I've been having cramps since about 9:00 last night like I'm about to start my period, they aren't painful but are very uncomfortable and I've been stuck to the couch all day and they kept me up all night.

I also have bad back pain and was light headed a little last night so I threw up a little nothing major, then this morning I had diarrhea twice, but nothing since. Now this afternoon its just been these nagging constant cramps and back pain that I can't get away.

Should I call my doctor and speak to my nurse? Or do you think I just have gas or dehydrated? I really don't want to go in and then it just turn out as gas I'd be so embaressed....

TIA!!!

You should always call if you are concerned, they will probably ask about your fluid intake and suggest you relax and push fluids.

I would call just for peace of mind.  Like the last poster suggested, keep up on your intake of fluids.

I know what you mean about not wanting to bother people, but better to be safe than sorry. It's their JOB to tell you if your symptoms are cause for concern or not.

I would call for peace of mind and to just keep the doctor in the loop. Plus i feel they should be there to answer and address any concerns. Good luck!

I agree--CALL THE DOCTOR!

With both her children my sister had diarrhea during early labor.

Are you seeing a pattern to the cramping/back pain?  Is it constant?  Try to keep an eye on the clock and see...

You should probably call. I had similar complaints around this time with my last pregnancy and I turned out to have a UTI and was a little dehydrated. Nothing serious, but definitely something that needed attention.

I called and talked to my nurse, she said to go to the hospital since they are closed for the day and won't be back until Monday. I was hoping to talk to her a little more but she was in a rush to get off the phone (not my normal sweet nurse thats usually there)

I didn't really get to tell her much she just said if I've been having period like cramps for over 2 hrs with back pain and laying on the couch hasn't worked then go in. Def. don't feel better about the situation especially since there is no way I can drive myself and a 4 and 2 yr old to the hospital almost an hour away and get seen. hubby said he can't leave work so if its still happening in the morning he'll take me then....

thanks for all your advice! hope that 7pm hurries up and gets here so I can put the boys to bed and get in bed myself to rest

Drink lots of water and stay on the couch. Don't attempt to do much more than that. (I know that will be hard with 2 little kids)

Yes of course you should call your doctor - that's why you pay them. :-)  And really, you need to get over this "embarrassed" thing. You're creating human life -- we passed embarrassing like 6 months ago. ;-)

You can always call labor and delivery and ask for advice from them too.
