XP- 35 weeks. No point in calling? Or call?

So a few weeks ago I was having contrax and was 50 effaced at 33 weeks (my older DD was born at 36 weeks.) I was told then to take it really easy until 36 weeks. I'm now 35 weeks and some days and have been having contrax on and off for a few hours. Not painful but uncomfortable, and maybe every 7-8 min for the past hour or so.

So, my question is at 35 weeks I'm pretty sure they won't consider stopping labor or doing steroids so there's probably no reason to call the after hour line unless it seems like it turns into active labor, right? Am I missing a reason to call?

FWIW I have every desire to keep baby cooking for at least a few more weeks but I'd rather not go into L&D if they wouldn't do anything right now anyway. Last time they just hooked me up to monitors for two hours and then told me to go home and get some rest.

Water and lie down, right?

Every 7-8 minutes? My doc said call the office if I have more than 4 contractions in one hour. I'd call.

I'd rest and drink water....but I'd probably call if they got closer. I think they would just let you labour at this point though.

Thanks. I went ahead and called the on call doc and he said that if they get to 45 min to come in for a shot of terbutaline. We'll see...

Yeah I'm pretty sure they're strict about the 36 week thing. The baby would be fine but likely in NICU for a bit. GL.

I don't think you get steroid shots after 34w, but I could be wrong.  My hospital didn't stop my labor at 33w5d so they wouldn't stop me further along, but I'm sure they're all different and it depends on the situation (since my water broke).

I hope the water and taking it easy helps and that your LO cooks a little bit more!

You arent full term. Many places will still try to stop it at 35 weeks. Earlier you inform your ob the better. I wpuld keep in touch with ob.

I'm a little late here but I would definitely have called. I had my first baby at 35 weeks and she was in the NICU for 3 weeks. They would have tried to stop my labor but my water had broken so they had to get her out.

If your water hasn't broken (sounds like it hasn't) and there isn't any other medical reason that your baby needs to come out right now, they should try to stop your labor for at least another week or two.

Call your OB, plus water and rest. Unless your contractions start to get increasingly painful and are within 4-5 minutes, or your water breaks, L&D will probably send you home. I've been having contractions since 32 weeks as well, put on bed rest until 36 weeks, and here I am now, at 38 and change. :) Still contracting, but I'm able to paint (with no-VOC paint), clean and go to swim class, and do pretty much whatever I want. I would say continue to take it easy until 37 weeks, then start nesting away.

And what PP had said, call your OB to see if they will give you something for now...you don't want LO to come this early.
