I'm in NZ so our prices can't be compared...but I buy very inexpensive gifts like a cheap board book, a bath toy, a shaker/tambourine/bell rattle, a peg puzzle and then throw in something extra like a bottle of bubble blowing mix.
I work on it being a gesture not a really memorable sentimental gift that I might give to a close friend or family member.
