Margaret Frances, Margaret Mae

OK, baby girl is here and needs to be named tomorrow before we leave the hospital. Margaret (nn Greta and Maggie) is set but middle names are totally up in the air. DH is throwing out new suggestions and seems to have moved on from our 3 front runners.  So what comes to mind when I saw Margaret Frances?  How about Margaret Mae?  And do you think 2nd middle names get totally lost/forgotten?  Is it awkward for a kid to have to worry about 2 middle names?

I have my own feelings on these but curious to know if public opinion agrees with me.  Thanks for the help - we need it!!!

Margaret Frances for sure.

Margaret Mae brings to mind a certain Rod Stewart song, and not that it's a bad thing, but you might just want to avoid people singing it to you every time you say her name.

Does Margaret Frances not sound like a nun name to you?  I feel like its really old and stodgy.  But Margaret is 100% mine so I want to be open to his suggestions.

the double name in question is Margaret Frances Green.  Thoughts?

Margaret Mae is gorgeous, but I agree with PP that people will think of the song Maggie May. As a Maggie, the song already comes up enough without having worry about a matching MN, too!

As for the nicknames, I wouldn't worry about it. I have a strong suspicion that one will stick and the other will probably fade out. That's cool though - whichever one fits your DD best will be her nn!

I think any two saint names together might evoke thoughts of a nun, but, so what?  They sound great together!  What does your hubby think?

Congrats! Love the name Margaret. I don't care for either middle name, sorry. I just want to say "Sister Margaret Frances." Totally reminds me of a nun. And Margaret Mae doesn't flow all that well to me. What are the other options you're thinking about?

The options we came to the hospital with are Eleri (a welsh name - dh is from Wales), Jeanne (my aunt) and Wren (ds's middle name is Robin, so it would be a bird thing).  Dh is throwing me for a loop with these.

Nuns always start with Mary (for Mother Mary), never Margaret so it doesn't sound like a nun name at all IMO.

Oh I like both Margaret Mae and Margaret Frances. Two lovely middle names. Forced to choose if say Margaret Mae. I like the association with Maggie May and rod Stewart. It can be a serious and a hip name.

Love Frances. It is my grandmother's name and I will use it as a middle name if I have a daughter.
