So apparently four-year-old Ellie down the street's name is not short for Eleanor, as I assumed, but for her mother's maiden name, Ellery.
And of course, I heard that as "celery."
Ugh.
I know a man named Ellery.
I always say that if he and his girlfriend have a baby, they should name that baby Arrot. I crack myself up.

Ellery is a real name. It is masculine. But legit.
