doremi29:The only L names that are coming to mind that don't sound a lot like Layla to me are Leonie and Leona.nbsp; Random girl names I loves are Maren, Camille, Piper this is what we're going with for DD, Isla, Celia, and Noelle.Would you consider Eve/Eva as a FN?
Piper is cute. I don't know Eve/ Eva seems very popular. Hoping for something a little more unique without being creative for her first name. I liked that to my ear Luca is feminine sounding It seems i like the flowery 'a' endings.
Her grandmother was Evelyn and passed last year.
I know you feel like it's a bit tainted now that you got negative responses, but I have 2 Luca's at the middle school where I teach and I've never heard or thought anything negative about the name! I love frequenting this board, but there are a few names/styles that just aren't popular here- that doesn't mean that they are truly bad names or would get the same negative reaction by a different group of poeople.
I would seriously reconsider taking Luca off the table because it seems like it was a name you really connected with and that's what's important. I mean, if you were coming on here with a truly awful name (Neveah or something) I wouldn't be saying the same thing.
I will warn you that this is coming from someone who doesn't mind gender neutral or even boy names on girls, doesn't mind trendy names (DS is Mason), and I don't care if a name ages well, so maybe take my opinion with a grain of salt ;)
