Ultimate crib sheet + mattress pad?

We got 2 ultimate crib sheets, as advised by Baby Bargains (and many here) to put on top of the normal fitted crib sheets we bought. Do we need to buy a mattress pad too?

FWIW I hated those things. They are way more of a pain to change than a crib sheet. They're also really cold. I would get a mattress pad because even if you like the ultimate crib sheet you probably won't use them for as long as you have the crib

We have a mattress waterproof cover, then the sheet, and then the ultimate crib sheet.  I haven't had any problems with blow outs in the middle of the night so I think I may be overdoing it.  But then again, my LO is only 12 weeks.
