Suddenly falling a lot

DS is almost 1. He has been walking for almost one month, and has incredible control walking -stopping, stooping, carrying things, climbing, practically running, etc.

until yesterday.

he has been falling over and losing his balance with things that normally don't even phase him.  Like he will go to put his hand on the wall and miss and fall over. Totally not like him. He fell three times at daycare yesterday and has some big bruises on his forehead.

So, has anyone heard of this being a really common phase or symptom of something?

he doesn't have a fever, slept great, eating fine, jabbering, playing, pointing, etc, this is the only thing that's off.

I'm a very worried mama right now! Thanks!

I don't think it's common but my best friends LO, just a little over a year old at the time, started falling all the time, it was kinda crazy, so she took her to the doc.  It turned out there was some virus that toddlers are prone to that she had.  It gets into the joints.  It went away after a couple weeks her LO was walking and playing just fine without all the falling.

I think, more commonly, that with big growth spurts there comes ungainliness.  It passes pretty quickly as the kids adjust to their new size.

Ds goes through phases where he does this. Like a pp said, they usually are around growth spurts.
