I'm back and we're (sort of) benched again. Long.

::Waves:: Hello pretty ladies! I've had a roller coaster of a month.

DH and I had our new RE consult on 12/26. Some good news, some bad/upsetting news but generally positive.

Bad news: the new RE feels that my 2nd IUI was also a BFP but CP/early loss. She said it's absolutely unheard of to have positive tests 16 days past trigger (esp a digital). That sort of sent me reeling but there's not much we can do about it.

Good news: The RE got me right into the January cycle for IVF and didn't feel we needed additional testing at all. She's going to do traditional fertilization for half our eggs and ICSI for the other half to see if we have any sperm or egg quality issues, which I will be interested to see.

Then DH and I went to Disney World for a little over a week and got back on Sunday and had an absolute blast. His liver biopsy and my baseline for antagonist protocol were on Monday. I had an 18mm cyst and my E2 levels were too high to start stims, which wound up being a good thing because DH had complications w/ his biopsy. He got admitted to the hospital on Monday night after hours of excruciating pain. Turns out his gallbladder got "pissed off" (his hepatologist's phrase) that his liver was being messed with and got incredibly inflamed. He got admitted overnight while we sorted out getting him transferred to his hepatologist's hospital in Chicago. His gallbladder calmed down after several hours of IV fluids and pain meds, which wound up being a very good thing because we couldn't get him transferred (just about every hospital in the city is full due to the flu outbreak and there weren't open beds). He got discharged on Tuesday to go do outpatient gallbladder testing bc his hepatologist felt it would be quicker to do outpatient than wait for a bed to open. The hepatologist also rushed the liver biopsy results and everything has come back perfectly healthy - no clue why his gallbladder freaked out or anything so YAY! He's officially the healthiest person with chronic Hep C ever but it took several years off both our lives to discover that.

My RE wound up cancelling/postponing our IVF cycle pending clearance from DH's hepatologist that we're ok to proceed. We can't get in to do follow up with the hepatologist til 1/30 so I'm fairly sure we'll be out for the February cycle, too, but just in case we can squeak it in, I'm on lupron now for a long-lupron protocol.

DH and I have spent the week at home recuperating from this plus I also managed to pick up the flu in Florida (ugh) so going back to work on Monday is going to be unpleasant.

I feel like we never even had a vacation with how crazy this week has been. Insane.
