Soreness/Pain

I'm 28 weeks and I feel like the baby is trying to pry his way out. I'm having a lot of pressure, soreness and pain but just in my vaginal area. Sometimes I have to hold myself to walk around. Is this normal, my US last week my OB said baby is head down and its RLP blah blah but it HURTS. I feel like I must be explaining what i'm feeling wrong for him to keep saying it's RLP. Does this sound normal to you guys?

Unfortunately, it probably is normal (but that doesn't make it any less painful!) and I'm guessing your OB will probably suggest a maternity support belt.  I'd definately bring it up though!!  I haven't delt with it with either pregnancy (yet) but I've heard other people complain of the same issue.  Hang in there!

This is exactly what he recommended I guess I should go get one before I complain to him again ::sigh:: Part of me didnt believe him because I don't understand how the belt will help my lady parts.

I think it just takes some of the pressure off.  I know some belts are liked better than others by people on here so maybe someone can give you recommendations for a good one to get.

Girl,I have all the same pains in the pelvic / vaginal area -- not sure if baby is head down or not, but lots of pressure down there, like if I pushed it too hard weight lifting or something.  Hurts the most when I first stand up, and then after walking too long.  My doc also recommended a maternity belt and I haven't gotten one yet.  I do think that the way it works is by supporting your bump and extra belly weight, which then takes weight / pressure off your pelvic area.

It hurts but I think it is normal.  Relaxin hormone is making everything loose and tender down there...

Look into Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction. Everyone kept saying my pain was normal, it took my OB doing a vaginal and me literally screaming for him to believe me that I was not exaggerating about the pain. I literally typed in "excruciating pelvic pain pregnancy" and SPD popped up. You could put my freaking picture next to it, I was textbook. But so few OBs are familiar with it. But the physical therapist he sent me to knew exactly what I was talking about. What helped me the most, and even if you don't think it's SPD, is a chiropractor. Find one who's trained in pregnancy. Mine has been a godsend with my many complications.

I had to find the link but this might be helpful.

http://www.plussizepregnancy.org/pubicpain.htm

It's good info... Just ignore that it says plus sized pregnancy. It can affect anyone
