As a name for a human? Negative.

I guess I have a double bias. I'm from a place with "Nova" in the name, and I'm not a fan of "place" names. Also, my best friend's dog is Nova.

-NOVA Southeastern, a college in South Florida

- nn for Villanova, college in Philly

- TV program on PBS about science stuff

- supernova stars / astronomy stuff

NMS.  I immediately associate it with the nn for the region of Northern Virginia or for Northern Virginia Community College (which has always been called NOVA). Or the Oasis song, Champagne Supernova.
