how far dilated were you when you started labor?

Morning! Curious who was dilated to what when they started labor? I'm at a 4, started once and then it stopped. Talk about frustrated right now!! I know there is no magic number, but kinda curious how far people have gotten dilated before giving birth?

When I went to the hospital with bleeding, I was 5.5cm. I had been 4cm the rest of the week before.

FTM. I was 1 to "maybe 2cm" when checked four days before LO was born. I was in labor when I woke up at 5am on the day she was born, got to the hospital at about 10:30am, and was 7cm when checked.

My water broke when I was at 3cm, at 3am and I delivered my lo at 9:07am, 6 hours later.

I was at a 3 when I went to my appt on Friday at noon. When I checked in to the hospital Saturday morning at 12:30AM, I was still a 3. However, it went super fast after that. C was born at 4:26AM!

I went in when my water broke and was not even 1cm so they started an induction to augment everything.

I was 1 cm on Monday afternoon, started false labor that night, then started real labor the next day and was 4 cm by the time I got to the hospital Tuesday night.

I was only having contractions for an hr when I went in and was at 7cm.

I had a home birth. My water broke at 5:30 am; I was at 1 at midnight and 10 three hours later. I gave birth at 4:30 am.

1.5 at 8am, 4 by 1 pm, fully dilated by 2 pm. Active labor started around 12:30 pm. It was really rough going that quickly, though, because my contractions were about 30 seconds apart and DD wasn't quite to the point where I could push so I ended up getting an epidural. Not that I minded, but if she'd been ready to go right then, I probably would've delivered within a couple of hours, if that. I ended up delivering around 11 pm after the epidural had fully worn off.

My contractions started at 330 in the morning. I went to the hospital at 9am. I was 3 cm. I was fully dilated at 10:30pm, delivered at 1:00am! I pushed for 2 hours, eek!

Well, when we went in to see if it was my water that was leaking I was 3 cm dilated. One week prior to that I was a fingertip dilated.

I was 1 cm "maybe", on Thursday afternoon. Water broke at 2:30 on Friday. When I checked in at the hospital around 8, I was 3 cm. 7 cm by noon.

When I got to the hospital I was 3cm but my water broke at home an hour before that. It only took 2.5 hours though to go from 3 to 9.

My water broke but when they were admitting me I was 4cm. I wasn't due for my first check til the next day so I don't how far I was before my water broke.

I was 4cm for about a week, got to the hospital at a 5. From the time my water broke labor started until my daughter was born was just over 2hrs so hopefully you have a quick labor too!

With my first I was only a fingertip dilated when my water broke.  With my second, I was 3cm at my checkup and I went into labor a week later and my labor was very fast so I assume I must have been at least 5cm.  With my third I was over 5cm when I showed up at the hospital to be induced but labor hadn't started on it's own yet.  And, with my last, I was 4cm dilated and went into labor early the next morning and delivered within 45 minutes of labor starting so not sure how much more I dilated before I went into labor but things happened pretty fast!

I walked around for 2 1/2 weeks at 4 cm. So when I got to the hospital I was still 4cm but an 'active' 4cm then went to 5cm an hour later. Once they broke my water, I went from 5 cm to 6 cm very quickly. Good Luck!

I was at a 3 in the morning at my OB appointment, then my water broke that evening and had LO that night.

Well, the night before I had my baby, I was at a 3, and I was in pain so we went to the hospital. I stayed for about an hour and only progressed to a 3.5 and was sent home. That was about 1 AM the day I had my baby. By 11AM the same day I was at a 5 and fully effaced, and was sent to the hospital.

Night before, I was 1 cm (went to triage because of contractions due to dehydration)....water broke the next afternoon around 2pm, went to L&D, and I was up to 2 cm.  They started the pic drip and it took till about 2am to get to 10 cm, 6 pushes later, I had him in my arms :)

I went to the hospital when my water broke at 3am and I was 5cm at checkin. I imediately got into the jetted tub in my hospital room and my body told me to push within a couple hours. Just before 8am I had my little boy in my arms.

Same for me, and they weren't painful at all I probably got to 89 before I knew for sure it was labor. But the 6 hours of pushing made up for it...

I was dilated to 3 1/2 at my 37 week appointment and at a 4 by week 38. My water broke at 38 weeks, 4 days. I was still at a 4 when we got to the hospital. I was induced due to not having any contractions. Was at a 5 three hours in and at 10cm within 6 hours and had my son less than two hours later. I got really lucky for a first time mom!
