(XP) Arms Reach Co-sleeper

Anyone use one of these? Did you use it as a true cosleeper (e.g., attached to the bed) or as a stand alone bassinet? Were you afraid of accidently throwing your blankets on the LO (or did you ever do that)? Or in some other way smothering them? Other opinions?

Also - would you feel comfortable getting one of these used? I saw one on CL for a good price, but not sure how I feel about a used one.

TIA!

I used one as a cosleeper although we didn't use the attachments for under the mattress, just pushed it up against the bed. It was a life saver for those first few weeks especially after my c-section.

I was never scared I would throw my blankets on the baby. You sleep so differently when you know LO is right there. I wouldn't have put baby on DH side because he is a very heavy sleeper but I had no concerns with LO next to me.

I only used mine for the first five weeks after LO was born, so for the cost, this totally makes sense as a CL item. I don't see how buying this product used is any different than buying a PNP used. They're very similar.

I love ours and we got it used from a friend   Personally I have a major fear of bed bugs and since it can't be taken apart and completely washed I would not buy it used unless you know the seller. We used ours as a stand a lone for both kids the first four months.

we got ours off craigs list and it is fine.  We use it with all the sides up, it is our downstairs crib since it has a higher weight limit than a pnp.  so far the twins nap really well in it.

We have it. DD would only sleep in her swing, tho so it was kind of a bust. Fortunately, we got the one that converts to a play yard so we use it as a travel crib, too. That said, I do like it and she will nap and sleep all night in it when we travel.

Ditto. I used one as a cosleeper although we didn't use the attachments for under the mattress, just pushed it up against the bed.

I loved that with the one side down you can roll over and touch the baby if need be without having to get out of the bed.

Dependent on how long the baby stays in your room, you do have to pay attention to the weight limit. My baby was a porker so at around 4 months we had to switch to the pack and play bc she maxed out the weight limit. i like that this is much smaller than the pack and play too.

i would def. get on CL and just wash the sheets!

I absolutly love and reccommend this! We got two of them, mini and a larger one. They were actually give to us by co-workers and I thought we'd just try them out. We used the mini for the first two months at night. My twin boys slept together in it. It was a lifesaver after my c-section. I had it on my husbands side until I could pick the boys up. We used the large one during the daytime in our living room. Once they grew out of the mini we set up the large one in our room and it is perfect. I nurse them so its so easy to just grab right from my side, nurse them and put them back to sleep.I don't have to get out of bed at all!  I highly reccomend it. I might consider buying one off craigslist, some parts of it are washable, but not the whole thing as its made of fabric. I'd make sure it was from a smoke free/pet free home maybe ?

I was a little worried about smothering with my covers, but there is a little ledge between you and the baby. The covers end up going the other way!

Also if you get one, use it without your bedside table so you can get out of bed!
