Country Themed Color Help

My idea for the baby shower is "country themed". We are going to have it outdoors during the beginning of summer. If you google "country baby shower" you will get an idea of what I had in mind. Mason jars, strawberry lemonade, daisies, little hay stacks on the desert tables, homemade sugar scrub for a give away inside of a small mason jar, flowers on the tables, etc....anyways, I hope you get the idea..I think it'll be super cute.

Now, my questions is, instead of pastels, we want bright/bold summer colors. Since we will have daisies & maybe even sunflowers, yellow will be one of the colors but what other colors go with my theme? Also, we don't know the sex yet so what would you suggest for boy and for a girl?

 Thanks!

Leave it to the hostess(es) to decide all that.

AngelSmitty: This reminds me of something my college Human Sexuality professor used to say in class. "Sex is between the legs. Gender is between the ears."

Well..thanks for the suggestions, but I am helping with the planning. I enjoy planning events and they sure do not mind the help! They wanted ideas as well.

Yellow and green if you want to keep it gender neutral. Yellow and pink for a girl or yellow and blue for a boy if you find out the sex before the shower. I think gingham check would go well with the country theme.

I don't really understand the MTB helping to plan their own shower, but colors that go with golds and yellows are reds/oranges, baby blue, and purple.

It really depends on what country you pick for your theme. I chose Germany for my country themed baby shower and decided to use the flag for my color guide.

You have, like, hundreds of countries to choose from, obviously! Stick out tongue

I love country 4th of July. I'd go with red, white, and blue. It's classic and would go great for am outdoor country classic event.

Sunflowers or yellow gerbers and blue delphinium are gorgeous together. I'm doing a thank you bouquet for my mom for hosting my shower next weekend with that combo because baby is a boy and I wanted to incorporate blue in there.

You (or your hostess?) have picked a very distinct theme and you say want bold colors so I would not worry about trying to incorporate "boy" or "girl" colors into it.  I'm not generally a fan, anyway, that just because you're having a girl you have to use "girl" colors and vice versa for boys.  Just use a mix of pretty summer flowers. (But, really, as the MTB, you shouldn't be involved significantly in the planning of our shower; sit back and let your hostess take care of everything).

I'd go with red and blue.  I've done a barbeque and used bandanas as napkins.  They arent very expensive and make for a really cute table setting.
