Did my injecction by myself!! Woo hoo!

So I just have to say I'm proud of myself, last night I did my 2nd injection all by myself..I was shaking life a leaf, thought my legs were gonna give out lol.. but we're also videoing everything to have and show family and hopefully future children as a result of this cycle! So I was pretty nervous. The shots really arent that bad..its the blood draws that really weird me out. I fainted when we did our blood test for infectious diseases before we could start IVF lol...Anyway, first appointment at the RE tomorrow since starting stims. Wish me luck!! Baby dust to you all!
TTC since 11/11. 10 months natural= 10 BFN 8/12 First appt with RE 4 semen anaylsis later 1.9 million count, 21% motility and very poor morphology Me- bloodwork, 2 ultrasounds, HSG exam =I'm fine 3 months of testosterone treatments = 3 more BFN DH bkoodwork after 3 months treatment= no change RE says we can continue with hormone treatment for MIF, But says it could be year or more to see results that would even make us IUI candidates RE says we can try IUI but doesn't expect the results to be good based on severe MIF. 12/12 decide to move forward with IVF Started IVF Cycle #1 1/11/13

IUI 8-12 and 9-12 failed
IVF 12-21-2012 - 2 I think perfect no matter what the dr graded them (2B)embryos transferred Beta on 12-31-12 Positve - Beta is 21
Beta 2 1-2-13 - 31
Beta 3 1-4-13 - 53
Beta 4 1/9 - 212!
Ultrasound 1/10 - Nothing completely empty uterus Beta 1/14 - 743; Beta 1/17 - 1704 ultrasound shows nothing. Officially a miscarriage. 1/21 Beta 3900 Dr. says it ectopic. Ultrasound shows a miracle heartbeat right in the uterus where it belongs! Dr. says I can be cautiously optomistic!!! Hang in there baby!

Way to go! Videotaping it is a great idea. DH is a photographer so he is taking pictures of everything. He even asked our RE if he could be in the room for the retrieval - she said yes but that if he passes out he is on his own :-)

Started TTC July 2011. Infertility workup July & August 2012.
DH - all clear. Me - Unicornuate Uterus discovered at HSG 8/16/12. Referred for IVF 8/28/12. Approved for IVF Warranty Program 10/2/12. Laparoscopy 11/1/12 - removed right rudamentary horn, both tubes, left ovarian cyst and endometriosis. Given all clear for pregnancy after 1/1/2013.
IVF cycle 1 starts 1/19/13!
12 eggs, 7 mature and all 7 fertilized - 2 Frosties!!
5 day SET 2/4/13 - Beta 2/13: 86 & 2/15: 186 BFP!!!!

Yay!! I still remember my first one too! I was scared to death and after it was finished I laughed at myself for being silly. I didn't even feel it.

I was SO worried about DH giving me my PIO shots because if the dude sees me in pain he throws up immediately passes out...we've experienced this with my tonsils and when I was in a bad UTV accident...he was a champ though and we high fived afterwards.

I hope that the first fear is over for you and that its smooth sailing the rest of the way.

RE is recommending IVF but we want to start with IUI. DH was unwilling to pursue treatment until 7/21/12.

Cycle #23- Injects + IUI#2= BFFN

Good job! Been there a few times. I did most of my shots myself except the trigger. The first PIO shot I did myself too which was hard since it went into my lower back but had DH take over that one!

Love that you are filming it. I keep thinking of how I want to do that each cycle, little documentary of all we go through. I take pics of the meds and that alone usually shocks anyone I show it to! GL!

Wahoo!  You go, girl!  I could never do the injections to myself.  Poor hubby had to do them all - and still is, with the PIO.  No way in hell I can stick myself.
4/12/10 - Began TTC 8/2012 - IFV #1 - 18 follicles retrieved, 11 usable, 10 fertilized, 9 continued to grow, 2 tranferred, BFN :( 9/2012 - Treated for uterine infection 10/2012 - Uterine infection cleared up 11/12/12- Began IVF #2 12/19/12 - 2 embryos tranferred 12/24/12 - Tested Christmas Eve morning - BFP!!! :) 12/28/12 - Beta #1 - 193 12/31/12 - Beta #2 - 624 1/7/13 - Beta #3 - 7544 1/14/13 - Beta #4 - 31,067 1/16/13 - IT'S TWINS!!!! That's Awesome!! I have not attempted that yet, I am too chicken. Each night I have a date with the DH, aka the "Menopur Man". Good luck and baby dust!

Just started Lupron last night and DH did the first shot. But he has been having some back pain lately, and took a muscle relaxer tonight and passed out. So I had to do it on my own. It was not fun at all, but I managed. Now I know I can do it if I have to, but I plan on making DH continue to do them for me whenever possible.

Haha Yeah! My DH doesnt mind needles, and surprisingly I"m the baby, so I thought for sure I"d have him do all mine- But for some reason I like doing it because I feel in control and having him come at me with a sharp object is unappealing lol. Best of luck!!
