What kind of bottles? (STMs)

Last time around with DD, we used Avent bottles.  I went ahead and registered and received a lot of them, so we were kinda stuck with them unless I wanted to throw money away.  But I didn't care for them...they leaked...a lot.  Anyway, just wondering if anyone had any recommendations?  Have you found any that you love?  Thanks in advance!

My SIL uses Playtex Ventaires so I registered for the same.  She had no issues with her DD or her 3-month-old DS.

DH has a friend who swears by Dr. Brown's but agrees that they are a PITA to clean.

Same here- we also bought the convertible sippy nipples and used them when DD#1 was ready for that stage.

I started with avent and quickly switched to playtex drop ins. I have enough to do without washing bottles!

Absolutely love them and no complaints!

With my son we went through the medelas, gerber, nuk, dr browns and then finally landed on Playtex ventaires which were the only ones that he didn't projectile spit up with.

We used Dr. Brown bottles last time. They were good bottles and DD seemed to like them. I agree with PP that they sucked to clean.

With DS, we just used the Medela bottles until he was about 3 1/2 months, and then we switched to Playtex Ventaire Advanced Wide, and I absolutely loved them.

That's good to hear from someone that I actually see posting instead of just reading reviews online. DS didn't like Tomee Tippee, but he wasn't exclusively breastfed. I plan to exclusively BF this LO and dump the milk from the Medela bottles into the Tomee's for when I'm gone. Thank you!!

We used Dr. Brown's and had no issues. I know a lot of people say the parts are a pain to clean, but I just threw everything in a dishwasher basket and was done with it - easy peasy. We had one Born Free bottle we got for free (I think for registering at BBB?) and we liked that one too.

I'm not a fan of drop ins but some people love them. I've used Avent an didn't like them either. Tommie Tippee is my favorite! I liked Dr. Browns but they suck to clean.

For the short time DD1 took a bottle, we used Avent.

This time I'm buying some Tommee Tippee because she needs to take a bottle even though I'll be (hopefully) BFing and I've only heard great things about them.

First Years Breastflow bottles are fantastic if you plan to breast feed at all. There are a lot of bottles out there that say that work like a boob does but most of them dont. This kind actually works in the same way a boob does and it doesnt hinder breastfeeding at all. My daughter refused to take anything else because nothing else worked the same as my boob.

Playtex Ventaire. If you're planning on BFing though, Tommee Tippee are great to avoid nipple confusion.

I hated the Ventaire ones... my mom's dog used to get a hold of the various pieces and chew them up!  We wound up using the Born Free and I liked them too, but they were expensive.

This time around I am going to try these Similac ones that my OB's office gave me a bunch of.  If not good, I will go back to my Born Free.

We used Dr. Browns with DS #1, and then switched to Playtex Nurser's (drop-ins) with DS #2.  I really liked the Nursers better...they were more convenient and they heated up quicker (only have to heat through the bag versus a layer of thicker plastic or glass) when heating in warm water.  We're planning to use the same for DS #3, as long as he does okay with them.

I'm with you... we used Avent for DS and HATED them... I cried when I lost a large amount of breastmilk I had pumped due to their leaking like a sieve. I don't care what people said, I looked at online tutorials, you name it, for help, and nothing worked. It was always hit or miss.

Anyway, I polled my friends with kids, and the vote came back for Playtex drop-ins for ease-of-use, working well with breasfed babies, and no leaking at all. So that's what we're using this time around!
