Sleep disaster again- Need to vent

So my son has never been a good sleeper, waking every 1-2 hours as an infant on average. At 5.5 months we did Sleepeasy with him and got him sleeping pretty well. Up until 7 months, he was only waking once, and then at 7-8 months it increased to 2-3 times. He's now almost 9 months old and the past 2 weeks have been Hell. I'd say I'm up 7-9 times a night again. We haven't been reinforcing the Sleepeasy method because teeth are popping up left and right and the book says to not let them CIO during acute teething. When he was an infant, it was very easy to get him back down...I'd just nurse him and he's be out in a minute or two. Now it's hard to get him back down. I either have to nurse or rock him for a long while. Sometimes he'll scream as soon as he hits the crib (so it becomes the "pick up, put down" game) and other times he'll just wake up 3 or 4 times within an hour and a half because he's not getting back into a deep sleep. He knows how to put himself to sleep, but it's a crapshoot whether or not he'll actually do it at bedtime and for naps. We just never know what we're going to get anymore. He's also just learned how to push up to sitting from laying down, so whenever he wakes, he immediately sits up or pulls up which gets him wide awake. I have tried givng him time to get himself back to sleep like he used to, but now that he's sitting up and sometimes standing, he just whines for hours on end, or plays for hours before he starts actually crying. (And we can't sleep when he's whining or playing; he's too noisey) Last night I think I got out of bed, like, 10 times. Adding to the problem is that he is now trying to drop his morning and evening naps at once. Sometimes we randomly get a great afternoon nap that is 1.5-2 hours long, but most days it's 30-45 minutes. DH works 14 hour days and I'm a SAHM, so I have always been the one to tend to LO in the MOTN...I don't get any help. Ugh. I'm dying. Exhausted doesn't even begin to describe how I feel. When I'm "awake" I feel so foggy that I feel like I'm drugged up or dreaming or something. I'm really at a loss of what to do. Give him Infant Advil for the teething and go back to square one CIO with Sleepeasy? I could really use some advice or words of encouragement today. Thanks guys!

Have you tried giving him anything for the teething? DS usually sleeps well except for last weekend he was up crying on and off all night. I finally gave him Tylenol and he settled down and went to sleep. I only give it as a last resort, but it seems he needed it.

we went through the same thing with teething at 7 months and I know we started sleepeasy about at the same time with LOs. I did anything possible to get him to sleep while acute teething was happening, but the second it was done, I went right back to training except this time, it only took two nights to get him on track again and with each round of teething, I do the same.
when he's in pain, won't sleep as a result, we cosleep to ensure some rest for us both, but I always go back to training when symptoms subside. good luck!

If things ever get all out of whack with my LO and I'm desperate for a solution I ask my pedi. She seems to have great advice that always seems to do the trick.

DD did the same thing for us within the last few weeks. I think she had a growth spurt. She has her 2 bottom teeth, but nothing new is popping up.

DS has been sleeping 10-11.5 hrs/night for a couple months, but DD is always the challenging one! She was up at 1am last night, but for almost a week, she was sleeping 8-10hrs/night again.

We always have naps around 10am and 2pm (or 3-4 hours after waking up from 1st nap). Their naps can be 30min to 2.5 hrs long...We've always struggled with naps!!
