NBR - Insurance - who do you go through

We are calling around and scheduling appointments to change our insurance company for auto, home and life insurance.

Who do you go through?  I was researching the top rated companies but every website has different recommendations :-) Too many to even start!

Yes for life insurance only. We are also purchasing additional life insurance outside of work...

We go through a local insurance company. Maybe check out the ones near you. They might be able to give you a better deal than the big names.

You should ask Your employer about short term or long term disability. This will be deducted from your paycheck if you are allowed to enroll (usually its a specific time to enroll, its not open all year). If you are enrolled then You can get more time off paid (maybe 40% or 60% depending on what state you live in) after your maternity leave is over.

I missed the enrollment so I cant take advantage of extra time off and 40% of my pay! Im very pissed off that my HR did not do a good job of informing us. This would have been very helpful!

Oh well...

Good Luck
