Update: Bed rest
We are 34weeks and 4 days!!!! If you would have asked me last week, I did not think we were going to make it 35 weeks. I know that is still a few days away but I am feeling much more positive each day. Best rest sucks completely but I am doing alright with it. I completely understand the need for it and I can see the positive changes in my BP, swelling and overall health from it. It just stinks I see my SO stressed and trying to handle everything household wise. She is amazing however and takes my bed rest so seriously.
She called in the troops this weekend to get my office converted to a spare bedroom so when the boys come home our help and family have a place to sleep. Her family was here most of the weekend and I can say when the boys come we are ready. All necessary items are together, installed and clean and I can see her walk a little straighter knowing those things are done. I feel truly blessed to have amazing family support on both sides.
My bp has been very stable and I have actually lost some weight. I was worried about this at first but the doctor on Friday said it was water weight loss as I am not nearly as swollen due to bed rest. He said it was actually a sign bed rest was doing it's job. As of right now our goal is to make it to the 25th as this is our scheduled c-section (about 11 days!!!!) and if we arrive at the 24th still doing well and the boys are doing well he will allow us to push our c-section back to the 31st to get to 37 weeks (so at most 17 days)! That was the best news ever. I had given up hope of getting to full term but now I am determined (within reason and as long as its safe).
QOTW: Pre pregnancy I did not eat very much red meat. I have never been a fan and kept to things like chicken, turkey, pork etc. At the beginning of my pregnancy my m/s was so bad I could not eat any meat. I lived on salads with boiled eggs, nuts, and beans or protein (which was nothing new to me just no meat). Once we hit about 16 weeks food aversions were pretty much gone but we found I had developed a thing for red meat. I have probably only had white meat about 10 times this who pregnancy and the rest has been red meat. Its very weird to me as I will actually crave a steak which is something I hadn't eaten in over 10 years. I also did not like vinegar based stuff prior but now I love the salty brine on things like pickles etc.
Now as the boys have dropped I find I eat all the time and it's normally whatever I can get my hands on. I haven't felt full in over a week.
