what did you veto?

I notice a lot of posts mention ‘I love the name but DH vetoed it’ and that got me curious.  What did YOU veto? Why?

Nothing!  DH only suggested 2 names my entire pregnancy (1 boy, 1 girl), and they were good names worth keeping (Colette, Benjamin)

Girls: Mikayla, Mackenzie, Kaylee...those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.  I don't like them because they are trendy, not classic, and Mikayla is misspelled (he had no idea Michaela is the legit way).

Boys: Orin, Rafal, and Dominic are a few a remember.  I have grown to not be fully opposed to Dominic but we don't discuss boy names since we have two we both love.  Orin and Rafal are legit but I think it would give our child a lot of problems with growing up.  Dominic I have some negative associations with.

I'm not on board with Charles Darwin (mostly because I want a family name from my side in the middle spot and this name would not leave room to honor my family or my heritage).

Also Lily, which is sweet, but not substantial enough for my taste. I would consider it as a nn.

I have vetoed tons of his names, he likes trendy names and names that I can't picture on an adult. His favorite that I have vetoed is Sydney.

So far I've vetoed Alexis (makes me think of a stripper) and Sean (too boring).

I've also kind of vetoed Jackson, which I was surprised to find DH loves. It's not that I don't love the name, it's just so popular that I really don't think I want to use it.

Nothing because I did all the suggesting. Oh I vetoed Aurora after it was a high contender and his friend went and told friends GF about the name and low and behold they name their baby that just weeks before ours was born.

I basically vetoed every single one of DH's suggestions.  He also is not a very serious person, so he would only suggest the craziest names from his warhammer books (kind of a nerdy guy).  But we did pick out both the girl name and the boy name quite easily.

DH loves Reagan for a girl but I vetoed it because DS is Carter.  I feel like it's too much of a presidential theme!  (Joke with him that our 3rd kid would have to be named Bush!)  He also likes Makenna and I said no because it just doesn't seem like it grows to me.

We vetoed Richard (nickname sounds TERRIBLE with our last name: *** BUT!)

Hubby vetoed Delilah (radio personality reference), and currently he's anti- Adelaide.... he thinks it's a fake name Sad

DH really wants Jack, which I like too, but it's way to common to pair with our common last name, so I vetoed. And now my cousin just named her baby that, so double veto. 

Last time we talked, he really like Rhett, which I vetoed right away because I just don't like it.

There have been several others mentioned in passing, but nothing he's pushed for.

DH wanted Candace, Crystal, or Amber. He likes the 80s. Apparently when I told him we needed another older name to go with Sylvia, he started looking at 80s names lists! Haha not what I was going for!

I think there have only been a couple names I have veteod. Tenae and Hailey. Tenae is just nms and Hailey is way too common for me. I think we have mostly agreed on boy names.

I have done all the suggesting, so I haven't vetoed any. DH has done plenty of vetoing of my ideas though (womp, womp).

I did proactively veto some, though - anything Aiden, Brayden, Kaden, Hayden, etc., and anything in the top 10.
