We have discovered we do have sperm occasionally after an original diagnosis of azoo.
So sometimes we have sperm and sometimes not, also the volume is very low. So we are doing freezes every 4 days trying to get enough for an IUI. So far we have 3 samples frozen.
They called today and said that they had messed up and not been charging us for the freezes when they should have been. They said it was $175 per freeze! With us needing even more to get enough for IUI this seems crazy!
We've done IVF so i know to expect expensive. But with our situation this seems a bit crazy. What does your clinic charge? Anyone had a similar situation where they made some sort of adjustment for you?
I want to say it was about $200 to process and freeze the sample. Then it's another $780 per year for storage. We just got a friendly reminder that our first year is almost up and rent is due. :-/
NYCGal276:We are $150 for a freeze and $60 for a thaw. I was like - why can't you just put it on the counter like chicken cutlets and save me the 60 bucks???
Bwhahaha! :)
