HAFranklin:We received a really awesome, gently used, swing from a fiend of ours. It really was a lifesaver...until the motor died out last week :( I wanted to cry! Swings are pretty expensive, so the only one we could afford right now is a portable swing. She hates it. The old one had lights, and swung side to side, and front to back, as well as reclining completely flat. This one is basically a swinging bouncy seat :(
Is it a fisher price swing? If so there are replacement motors and solderless repair kits on ebay for that for 15-18 dollars. Apparently it is a pretty common problem with the FP ones. FP is also awesome with customer service and replace it free of charge most of the time if you can handle being without it for a little while. We opted for the replacement motor on ebay hoping it would be quicker than waiting a month for the replacement. Thought I would share in case it would help! :)
