PrincessFiona9:I had MRSA when I was pregnant with DD. It was easily treated with a/b and then I had to pass the MRSA test 3 times in order to not have to deliver in isolation. I passed all 3 tests, and haven't had any signs of it since then. I did have an abcess like a year ago, but it was unrelated and the swab was negative when they drained it.
I had MRSA while I was pregnant with DD, also. I took the antibiotics and did some cleaning/sterilizing and it hasn't come back in 3 years. Now, my doctor didn't tell me about needing 2 negative MRSA tests (just the nasal swabs) before delivery so I was on quarantine at delivery, unable to leave my room to even walk the halls and people had to wear yellow gowns to come in my room! I'd had 1 negative test before delivery, but apparently need 2 negatives for the hospital--so definitely look into it.
Some things to remember--throw away any shaving razors you've been using, use an antibacterial bath soap for a while. I used Safegaurd brand soap and wash all bedding, clothing towels in hot water/bleach.
