saving mucous plug?

My midwife mentioned saving my mucous plug if I can.  She said there is something similar to placenta encapsulation that can be done with the plug.  Has anyone done this or heard of it?

Flop it on a cracker, sprinkle some hot sauce.  Just like a raw oyster.  Maybe not as salty, though.  Slurp!
DD: 6/30/09. Mild pre-e DS: 9/5/10. Normal pregnancy Diagnosed 6/4/12 with dermatomyositis. Currently on Prednisone and IVIG therapy. 9/11/12: Normal a/s for DS2. I've never heard or read anything about that. If your MW suggested it, then I would ask her more about it and reasons behind it.

I ate it on toast. Actually it was with 2 slices of bread kinda like a grilled cheese. I made all my stretch marks fade and I was back at prepregnancy weight but with perkier bigger boobs  by 2 weeks post partum.

I'm really friendly with my ob and she once mocked on patients who bring them in to show her because "it's gross." I would imagine there isn't anything you could do with it anyway. It's just mucous.

I am a lurker as I am not 3rd Tri yet but this is the funniest post I have seen in gosh WEEEEEEKKKKKSSS! Anyways...Who wants to honestly save a  mucus plug!? Do they bottle and freeze their discharge as well? Its gross and pointless and the oyster comment made me gag a bit! Wonder if the plug would slide down as easily though?
