Thrush help

DD is almost 3 months and we have been trying to treat her thrush for over a month now. We have tried Nystatin and that upset her stomach and gave her the diarrhea. We are now on our last couple days of Fluconazole and her mouth doesn't look much different from when we started it. I am sanitizing her bottle nipples and pacifier each time she uses them and using vinegar in the rinse cycle when I wash all of our clothes. I don't know if the vinegar really helps disinfect the clothes (bibs and burp rags I'm worried about) but I thought it couldn't hurt. Any other ideas?

We're dealing with thrush now too but I've never been told to disinfect clothes or burp cloths. I'm not really sure that its necessary because thrush is yeast. Are you also bfing or just formula? If your bfing you need to make sure that your cleaning off your breasts after every feed. Thrush is VERY difficult to get rid of. I would call your pedi and see what they want you to do next.
DS 8/10/2010 8lbs. 6oz. and 21.5in long! DD 11/28/2012 8lbs. 7oz. and 20in long!

Maybe you could try taking acidophilus and garlic.

ETA - I just realized I'm not sure if you're BF or FF. I guess this would only [maybe] hep if you're BFing.

DD is formula fed. We also cloth diaper most of the time and when DS had a yeast infection I had to disinfect the diapers. My thought process on the clothes was that they come in contact with her mouth and I didn't want to reinfect her with the infection. I plan to contact her doctor in a day or so when her medicine is gone to see what we should do next. I've read about a few home remedies (yogurt, baking soda etc.) but I'm not sure if they are safe for her yet. That is something I'll have to bring up to her doctor. I'm tempted to try giving her yogurt. She is still a few months away from solids yet though....

no, I've read a little about them but I wasn't sure how safe they were. Have you used them?

We are dealing with thrush right now too (I have it too). Ugh is it a pain!! I've heard a vinegar rinse (1 tbsp vinegar with 1 cup water) over their diaper area is helpful. I've also heard to avoid wipes and just use a wet cloth and rinse with the vinegar wash.

ETA: I'm using vinegar in the rinse cycle too.

DD has oral thrush. We are a little limited on what I can do to treat it because it is in her mouth....we've dealt with it in the diaper area with DS and it is a pain with cloth diapers! But tea tree oil in the wash cycle and lotrimin on his diaper area cleared it up right away.
