Baby Gate Recos (also on 6-9 board)

Hey ladies...it is about that time...I think my little man will be on the move shortly, which means we need to put up two baby gates. We have a split level, so I will need one at the bottom of the stairs going to the upstairs and one at the top of the stairs going to the basement.

I know I may get some sh*t for this one, but if there is a really good gate for the top of the stairs (between two walls--no railings) where I don't have to drill into my wall would be awesome.

So please recommend your baby gates for stairs. I need ones that have a swinging door, as I am short and will not feel comfortable trying to step over them with DS and don't want to have to take it down and put it back up every time that I go up and down the stairs (which since I still have bay brain sometimes can be frequent).

If there is a gate with the option to keep the door open and doesn't automatically close would be nice too.

Let me know if you love/like/hate your gate and why.

TIA

We have a munchkin walk through gate from amazon, its pressure mounted and VERY sturdy, LO pulls up and wrenches back and forth on it and its not going anywhere. I love that it has a door in it so I can walk through and close it rather than take the whole thing down or try to step over it.

We have two of these...love them! Not sure why it got some bad reviews on amazon. But Babies R Us usually has a buy one get one 50 off, that's what we waited for!

We bought a Kiddy Guard one a couple of years ago when DD#2 was a baby and I love it - we still have it up for DS now. It is similar to this (same brand, but they don't make the exact one that we have anymore): http://kiddyguardgate.com/p-138329-kiddy-guard-avant-retractable-child-safety-gate.aspx
