WDYT of these girl names?

We have decided on Keaton Lee for a boy. But we are undecided if we have a girl. Here are a few that we came up with and want your opions!

Keylee Glen

Kadance Glen

Kenzie Glen

Others we found:

Kamber

Kandace

Karissa

Karolina

Kendall

Kora

Kori

Kayci

Kendall or Kori wouldn't have Glen as a middle name.

Of the top three, I suppose I'd go with Kenzie. It's the least likely to be misspelled.

I like Kora and Karolina better, though.

Why the K?

Are you a Kardashian?

I like Cora, spelled with a C.  I also like Kendall.

The rest of these names?  Not good.  They are either too juvenile (Keylee, Kenzie) or you are trying far too hard with the K theme (Kamber??, Kandance).

If you like the "cuh" sound, pick a name with it but spell it properly.

The only name I like from that list is Kendall.  The rest are...not good.  What about Kendra?

Kendall is the only one I like. I like Cora and Carolina spelled this way, though.

Er... Cora?

One of my best friends is named Kindsay and since I have a positive association, I like it (but this spelling).

NMS at all.

I am totally, completely, 100% over the fascination of K names. And after the trash that is the Kardashians, it just has bad associations now.

Carissa was on our short-list for girl's names, but never with the K.

I think this would be a great name list for Kim & Kanye, and that is about it. Sorry.

If spelled traditionally I think Candace, Carissa, or Carolina would be nice.

No we are not the Kardashians. The reason for K is because both DH and I's name are K and he is absolutley set on it. We both love Keaton but I'm pulling out my hair with girl names.

Kamber is one DH suggested because he knew of someone with that name.

Some of those give me the eeks. Keaton is good, but the only one of your girl names I like is Karolina. Karolina is a legit K name, too. It's the German/Scandinavian spelling. If Keylee was spelled differently I'd vote for that, but I can't tell if you mean Keely or Kaylee. I would vote for either of those from your top 3.

I can respect wanting family traditions, but in this day and age, be prepared for the Kardashian comparisons. And that family is apparently going nowhere, so the comparisons will be around for years.

Any same-letter name is very trendy (the Duggars, with J, etc.).

We actually had to break the cycle when we realized I was A, DH starts with B, DS1 starts with C, and DS2 came along and was almost named David. Our parents loved the idea of A, B, C, D, but it was just too cutesy for me :).

If you are set on using a K, please use a name that is traditionally spelled with a K.  And remember that your little girl will grow up to a beautiful woman so she needs a name to match.

Wow. Where to start.

The whole family with a name that starts with the same letter seems trashy and unoriginal to me.

Names that are misspelled to fit a theme are even tackier. Cora, Carissa, Carolina are fantastic names. Please don't butcher them with a 'k' to fit some ridiculous theme.

Kamber, Keylee and Kadance are beyond bad...like embarrassingly so. Made-up, trashy, teen-mom kind of bad.

Kendall would be the only name you listed that I wouldn't side-eye.

Sorry but all of these names are pretty awful.  I wouldn't mind a few of them if they were spelled with a C as opposed to a K.

Keaton is fine. NMS, but I've seen way worse.

I hate all the girl names except Kendall. K is not C. Your husband isn't the only one who gets a say, you know.

There's nothing wrong with going with a K name, I'm just not a fan of changing the spelling to make it a K. What about

Kyla
Kimber
Kenna
Kia
Kellen
Kira
Kelsey

Those are NMS, but some K names that are probably going to be easier to get positive feedback about would include: Kayla, Kristen, Kiley, Katie/Kate, Katelyn.  I don't mind Keaton.

I agree with PPs that if you insist on a K name you should use one that's traditionally spelled with a K and not some yucky trendy spelling to fulfill the arbitrary rule you made up for yourselves.  Kate, Katherine, Karen, Kendra, something like that.

FWIW, DH and I both have names that start with J, and we decided to pick names we both, you know, actually liked, rather than forcing the same first letter on our children's names.  I think K names especially run the risk of seeming super cutesy and juvenile, and most of your ideas will not age well.  Your daughter will grow up someday and deserves an adult name.

I would suggest a more traditional, sophistocated name to kind of offset the potentially kitschy association of the "K" theme.

Kate or Katherine would be my favorites.

Carolina is lovely, but I dont like it with a K unless you're Scandinavian.

With the K, the only name that I think is okay is Kendall.

Other K names...

Kate, Kari, Kathleen, Keira, Karen, Kia, Kara, Kelly, Kendra, Kennedy, Kim, Kristin, Kristina...

They aren't all my style but they are actual names that begin with K.

I agree with all of this!  I am not opposed to K names, but PLEASE use actual real K names; not C names spelled with a K or other random names with a K.  Kate is one of my all time favorite names.  I even like Katelyn spelled this way (and I hate unnecessary y's in a name).  Keira is lovely also.
