H and I were lucky. Our very first conversation ever (well, sober anyway... we met on a cruise!) was about our favorite boy's name which just happens to be the same name. We both agree that it's a great nickname but a bad "real" first name so we found a longer version that works nicely with our last name. So our son will be Barrett, nn Bear. Bear has a lot of meaning for both of us for different reasons so it's kind of a cool connection, and Barrett seems like a nice name in case he wants to be the CEO of a company someday or something.
So maybe think of names that may have other meanings to you and find a name that works with that? Other names we really like because they have meaning to us is Cayman (we were married in Grand Cayman) and Mitchell (name of the dining hall at the summer camp we both worked at).
Ashleve:oh gosh-- this is pregnancy #3 for me too... 2 girls and this is a boy, and DD# 2's name is Tenley Renee!
we're having no luck agreeing on a name either. i love Beckett, but MH has vetoed that... back to the drawing board.
Crazy, this is the first time I've ever heard the name Tenley! It's cute. :)
