Cottage cheese newbie

Ok, so yes, I've never had cottage cheese..now you can gasp. It just does not look appetizing. Im going to try it with DD. I also found out DH has never had it either but his reasoning was seeing gross things in health class that reminded him of the consistency..:) anyways, what kind should I be getting for LO? I got something that said 4% milk fat and Large curd. Is this ok or should I be getting something else? TIA

4% milkfat is whole milk cottage cheese, so yes, that sounds fine.

Definitely 4%, the size of the curd doesn't really matter. DS loves cottage cheese, and so do I.

Glad you asked. I wondered this too. So whole milk products are what to feed a baby right? (Yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.)

I'm in the same boat. Never had it as it looks gross. But I'm willing to let dd try it! Thanks for the post. Can we buy flavoured cc? I've seen it in the store

I would get a small container to start with...it's one of those things people either hate or love, it seems!

I wouldn't worry too much about finding whole milk products.  Assuming your child is still being BF, FF, or has transitioned to drinking milk (or whatever equivalent you use) and isn't having trouble gaining weight.  I would avoid things that are artificially sweetened, though.
