Faint line on Pregnancy test

Has anyone else ever had this happen?

I took 2 at home tests today and both were positive, but the line was faint.  I went to my doc to get a confirmation test done there, and the same thing happened, he said it was very faint.  He said we needed to do blood work today and that I should come back in 2 days to make sure my levels are rising.  I am a mom of one and my first pregnancy was great, with no complications. Now, I am worried about miscarrying.

Are you charting, know when you ovulated, how many DPO you are? Ultimately a line is a line, meaning you're pregnant, if you're early in your cycle/before a missed period then th line would be faint. Also, the darkness of a line isn't always an indication of how pregnant a person is, the dye just indicates that there IS pregnancy hormone, not really how much of it there is, and some batches of tests just have less dye in them. So I'm not quite sure why you're already worried about miscarriage, for now your tests indicate you're pregnant, take it and run!

Both ovaries and left tube looked healthy and clear, so we'll see what the future holds for us.

You probably tested early. I got a very faint line on a dollar tree test and a BFP on a digital. Faint line does not equal miscarriage.

I am only worried because my doc said I had to come back to make sure the levels continue to rise.  Today is 28 days since my last period. Plus, nothing like this happened during my first pregnancy.  Just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem.  Super excited to be pregnant again!

This. I had faint lines on dollar tree pregnancy tests also. Then I went to my OB and he got faint results also. He did blood work that confirmed my pregnancy. Then when i went back at 8 weeks I started peeing negative, lol.

I'm going into my second trimester (14 weeks) and saw a healthy baby in a u/s today.

The absolute number on a blood test doesn't mean much. Beta levels should double every 48 to 72 hours. Your doctor bringing you back is to make sure the betas double appropriately. THAT is what matters. The two blood tests are an alternate way to confirm pregnancy. No reason to worry!

A line is a line. If you keep testing you will probably see it get progressively darker. Do you know how many DPO you are? It could just be early.

You probably just tested early - earlier than you did with your first pregnancy.  I started with light lines & they've gotten darker.  I think I tested 9 days past ovulation.  My blood HCG level was only a 9!  I went back for test #2 today (a week later) and will get the results tomorrow.  My lines are super dark now so I'm hopeful it will be a high number.

Don't be worried. I had a VERY faint line at first, but it got darker over the next couple of days. 

I got a BFP at 9 dpo. At 10 DPO my hcg levels were only 7! lol. Pretty low, so they had me come back in a few days later, and sure enough the levels were rising as they were supposed to.

You probably just caught it early!

Wait 48 hours and test again. Most instruction guides with HPTs will say the exact same thing.

Testing more than once in a day won't make the line darker (it might actually get lighter since HCG is most concentrated in FMU, especially early on).

Relax and all will be well :)
