What do you call your blob of cells?

Mostly I've been calling it just "baby", as in "Baby and I demand some icecream", or "baby and I decided it's your turn to turn out the light.  two against one".  but I've also been calling it kinda gross words in an endearing way like "lamprey" and "leech" to try to convince baby to stick to my insides and feast like a good parasite. 

What do you call yours?  Bean?  Lima?  Peanut?

All during first tri, I called it a parasite. Now that I don't feel like it's sucking the life out of me, I just call it baby.

We didn't think of anything creative, I found myself calling LO 'it". i tried not too but to me I couldn't believe that was my little boy sucking my energy away and making me sick, it had to be something else!

I was teasing DH that the baby is the size of a lime, so we called it baby lime for a hot second...

We call our baby "baby."  I depise all the nicknames like "peanut," "bean," and all the rest.  Sometimes, we'll call it "appleseed baby" or "sweet pea baby," depending on the week and how big baby is.
4/12/10 - Began TTC 8/2012 - IFV #1 - 18 follicles retrieved, 11 usable, 10 fertilized, 9 continued to grow, 2 tranferred, BFN :( 9/2012 - Treated for uterine infection 10/2012 - Uterine infection cleared up 11/12/12- Began IVF #2 12/19/12 - 2 embryos tranferred 12/24/12 - Tested Christmas Eve morning - BFP!!! :) 12/28/12 - Beta #1 - 193 12/31/12 - Beta #2 - 624 1/7/13 - Beta #3 - 7544 1/14/13 - Beta #4 - 31,067 1/16/13 - IT'S TWINS!!!! I have referred to it on occasion as "my little alien" after seeing the US picture, but mostly just "the baby".

When I was pregnant with P we called him Smudge, because my stepmom said he looked like "a smudge" in the ultrasound picture. For this one, I haven't really referred to it as anything yet ...

I am friends with President Obama. I asked him to dress up in an Easter Bunny costume and show up at my parents' house with a giant check for $1 million a la Ed McMahon on Easter Weekend. We were going to make them think that they had won Publishers Clearinghouse sweepstakes LOL. As soon as they answered the door, we had our friend stage a robbery - they made it look like everyone in the Publisher's Clearninghouse van was violently murdered. They threw the "bodies" out of the van onto the street and peeled out. We had a fake ambulance and police show up. Then my parents' neighbors came by with a basket of kittens - they were SO cute! Just when my parents were so freaked out by seeing kittens after a murder/robbery AND having won $1 million, we had Pres. Obama take off the Easter Bunny head and say "Surprise!! You're going to be grandparents!" My parents will never forget that moment. - Pillowass

My sister is really into the different fruit sizes each week.  So, she makes up a new name for us depending on what fruit it is.  During my lime week, she named him Lime Ricky.  This week is a plum and she named her Sugar Plum Fairy.  (The gender changes depending on what name she comes up with!)  Too funny!!

My DH is a medievalist, so we refer to our babies by ridiculous Ango-Saxon names. This one is "Aethelthryth". You can't even spell it right in the modern English alphabet...!

(My dad honestly believes we're going to name the kid that. Muahahahahaha.)

I've been calling ours "little pod" and my sister, who is totally weirded out by babies calls it "the puppy"...she's a dog groomer and is much better with the idea of puppies than the idea of kids right now. I'm totally ok with this as long as it means she buys them hats with ears! .....which it does! lol!

Haha, that made me laugh! I am a major Doctor Who fan, and I can't figure out for the life of me how I failed to think of calling our 5 week little alien stormageddon. That's perfect since I've currently just been referring to it as just "Alien" because it looks like one, and feels alien inside me.
