moms with walking Los..

How long did it take from the cruising stage until those first steps? DS is cruising all over the place and pulling up on everything, even walls. Just curious as to when we may see those first steps. I know all babies develop and learn in their own timeframe, I'm excited and would love to hear some first step stories. TIA.

About a month and a half, maybe even 2 months. He waited until he was really confident, then just took off one day and hasn't stopped since.

DD began cruising at 6 1/2 months.  She didn't walk 'till 9 months.  DS started cruising around 8 months and is still just cruising.

DD started pulling up & cruising at 9-10m and didn't start walking until 16m.

DS has been pulling up & cruising since 7m and is really close to walking, but not quite there yet.

DS starting pulling himself up at 6.5 months & cruising at 7 months.  He is a pro at both, however, he still hasn't walked & refuses to even try to stand by himself (I got 7 seconds out of him the other day).  He occasionally will push things around & walk that way, and every once in awhile, he'll walk if you hold his hands, but mostly if you even attempt that, he sits & crawls.  Part of me worries because he was quick to do everything (rolling over, crawling, cruising, pulling self up, etc) and now he's at a stand still.  However, I know it's still early for most babies to be walking, so I try not to freak :)

This is us, too. I think DD sees crawling as a more efficient way to get where she wants to go.

This is us too.  LO can walk around the whole house pushing her cart, but she will not walk if you try and hold her hands or stand her up... she refuses to put her legs down.  I honestly think she is waiting until she can walk quicker than she can crawl... right now crawling is quicker.  Plus, she is very independent, and does not want my help.

Sorry to be a total idiot FTM, but what is "cruising?" Does that mean crawling? My LO skipped crawling and seems to be going straight to walking. He wants to walk everywhere. He started holding on to two hands, now he perfers to hold onto just one hand. Sometimes he'll let go and plop down on his butt. He can push a walker around by himself. On Monday night he took 5 steps himself....made it all the way from Daddy to Mommy! The best he does at crawling is scooting himself around in circles haha. And sometimes he pushes up into this downward dog thing on his hands anf knees with his butt in the air? LOL don't know what that is exactly. Maybe he enjoys yoga?

Cruising is assisted walking, like holding onto furniture while walking. sounds like your LO may like yoga. lol. DS is crawling too, but he seems more interested in trying to walk around with his walker, pulling up on everything and trying to take a few independent steps. I think walking is coming soon, I think it's his confidence that stands in the way.

Oh OK! In that case, he's been cruising for about a month now and has only just started with a few independent steps! He actually began cruising before pushing up to sitting from laying down, and pulling up. About a week ago he got the hang of the other things though, and he's really excited about it! It's pretty much impossible to dress him now because he won't stay put!

DD1 cruised for like 2-3 weeks, at the most.

DD2 has been cruising for about 2-3 weeks. No sign of walking yet.

My LO has been cruising for a while now too but not walking yet either. He has just started being able to sit down from standing without falling over. He also has a new toy motorcycle that he has now figured out how to climb on and off of! He can walk with it too but he refuses to try standing alone lol. It's just a waiting game from here! Can't say I'm looking forward to him walking though!!! But I will be looking forward to him not having to be carried 100% of the time (:

I hear ya on the getting dressed thing! And diaper changes...oh my! I have to offer toys during both, then work around the toy in order to get anything done. Why am I so excited for him to become even more mobile? Lol
